TH9 Anti 3 Star Hybrid Base with Central Town Hall
Latest Reviews
Strategy Explanation
This TH9 base is built around a tight central core with the Town Hall placed deep inside and the Clan Castle kept close to the middle. That alone makes clean 2-star attacks less comfortable, because heroes and core troops have to push through several layers before they can reach the main target. The layout uses a diamond-style structure with a lot of small compartments, which is a strong fit for anti 3 star and hybrid use at Town Hall 9.
The X-Bows are not stacked in one easy section, and the air defenses are spread around the base instead of being grouped together. That matters a lot against common TH9 dragon attacks, because attackers cannot remove all the air coverage from one side and sweep straight through the base. Wizard towers also sit off the outer ring but not fully exposed, giving them support against balloons once troops move deeper.
For ground attacks, this base tries to break momentum rather than fully deny entry. Hogs, GoHo, and similar TH9 pushes have to work through awkward compartment transitions, while the core defenses keep firing from different angles. The outer buildings are placed in a way that can create uneven funneling, so an attacker who starts too wide can lose control of troop pathing before the Town Hall compartment is open. If the defensive structure suits your current setup, you can use the copy-layout option to load it directly into Clash of Clans.
Strengths
The biggest strength here is how much work an attacker has to do before reaching the center. This is not a base that gives up the Town Hall early, and it does a good job of forcing staged entries instead of simple straight-line attacks.
- Central Town Hall makes fast 2-star plans harder.
- Clan Castle in the middle is harder to lure and supports the core well.
- Many compartments slow hogs, heroes, and kill squad movement.
- Spread air defenses reduce easy value for dragon or balloon entries.
- Separated X-Bow coverage makes it harder to disable major damage from one push.
Core Value Protection
The central section is the main reason to use this layout. The Town Hall, Clan Castle, and key point defenses are packed into a protected area that cannot be reached without committing real troop value. At TH9, that usually means the attacker has to choose between spending extra wall-break support for the core or settling for percentage outside the center first. Either way, the defense gets time to work.
The core also benefits from crossfire. Troops entering one side are still taking damage from defenses placed across adjacent compartments, which is especially useful against heroes trying to walk inward.
Air Defense Coverage
This layout clearly respects dragon attacks. The four air defenses are distributed around the base instead of leaning too hard to one quadrant, and the archer towers and wizard towers support that spread well. That makes it harder for mass dragons to get immediate value from one funnel and one rage.
Another useful detail is that the air-targeting defenses are layered. Even if one section falls early, the next set of defenses is not right beside it, so air troops do not snowball through a single collapsed compartment line as easily.
Ground Pathing and Wall Break Pressure
Against ground attacks, the shape of the compartments does a lot of the defensive work. There are several short sections where troops can step sideways instead of continuing directly inward. That is good against sloppy hero entries and against hog support troops that need clean access.
Wall breakers also do not get one obvious dream target from every angle. Attackers have to think about which layer actually opens the route they want, and that often creates wasted openings on outer compartments before the center is available.
Best Use as a Hybrid TH9 Base
This is a solid hybrid option because it does not overprotect only storages or only the Town Hall. The storages are distributed through multiple compartments, while the middle still stays defensive-first. That balance makes the layout useful for players who want one TH9 base that can hold up in normal multiplayer defense while still being respectable against war-style attack plans.
If you want a TH9 base layout that keeps the core protected, gives decent anti-air coverage, and forces attackers to earn the center, this one fits that role well.
