Strategy Explanation

This TH9 war layout is a rotated-diamond base built to deny the third star. The Town Hall sits deep in the center with the Clan Castle and both X-Bows close by, creating a dense core that is hard to reach with a single Jump or simple Queen charge. Compartments stack in concentric diamonds, so troops are constantly forced to re-target and split.

Four Wizard Towers sit on the outer points of the inner diamond, overlapping splash on all approaches. Air Defenses are spaced in the mid-layer around the core (one in each quadrant), giving 360° air coverage without any easy “two-for-one” zap value. You’ll also notice the four Elixir Storages placed just inside the mid-ring; they act as beefy buffers that slow ground pushes and absorb early spell value.

Mortars and Archer Towers form a staggered ring toward the edges, while Cannons and Teslas (hidden in the pictured empty 2x2/3x2 pockets) are intended to pick off funnels and spring Hogs as they weave between tight compartments. Builder Huts sit outside at the flanks to pull cleanup troops wide and burn time in the endgame.

Strengths

  • Anti-3 star core: Central TH, CC, and X-Bows create a heavy DPS zone that punishes under-supported Queen charges and GoVa/GoWiWi pushes.
  • Air defense layering: ADs in separate compartments with cross-cover from the two Air Sweepers push Dragons sideways, forcing long pathing through Wizard Tower splash and Archer Towers.
  • Hog path disruption: Short, narrow compartments and parallel defenses create predictable spring spots and potential double-bomb pockets, especially along the left and right lanes of the diamond.
  • Time pressure: Spread defenses and outside corner huts stretch cleanup; the inner storages add extra HP in the mid-game.
  • Hybrid resilience: Miners/Hogs can’t stay grouped due to frequent walls and angle changes, while the core X-Bows keep firing throughout.

Clan Castle Recommendation

  • Option 1 (Anti-ground hybrid): Baby Dragon + 2 Wizards + 2 Archers + 1 Valkyrie.
  • Option 2 (Anti-air/drag): Lava Hound alone to stall Queen and Dragons while ADs/X-Bows work.

Trap and Small Tweaks

  • Place Seeking Air Mines in the two quadrants most likely to face a Dragon entry (usually the side away from Sweepers).
  • Spring Traps between high-HP defense pairs on the left/right lanes to catch pathing Hogs.
  • Skeleton Traps set to air against Lalo/Drag, ground if your war opponents favor Hogs.
  • Rotate Sweepers so they crossfire over the core rather than point the same way.

Attacker Scout Notes

  • Expect bait for your first wall-break; bring a test WB or a Yeti/Baby Dragon poke to pull small bombs.
  • For Lalo, you’ll need a clean Queen kill and CC pull—both are central, so plan a Sui + Jump or a deep Queen charge.
  • For Dragons, avoid entering into both Sweepers; path along a side and use Rages to clear Wizard Tower corners quickly.
