How We Review Clash of Clans Layouts and Guides

ClashOfClansLayouts.org publishes Town Hall and Builder Hall layouts for players looking for war, trophy, farming, defensive, hybrid, and progression-focused bases. Layouts may be submitted by community members, shared by creators, or added by our editorial team.

This page explains how layouts are reviewed before publication, what our review labels mean, how our guides are prepared, and the limitations players should understand before using any base.

Our Layout Review Process

Our review process focuses on making sure each published layout is presented accurately and provides useful information to players. Unless a layout is explicitly labelled as battle-tested, publication does not mean that it has been tested through a controlled number of defensive battles.

1. Town Hall or Builder Hall Verification

We check whether the submitted layout matches the Town Hall or Builder Hall level under which it is published. Layouts placed in the wrong category may be corrected, moved, or removed.

2. Layout Image Review

We review the submitted image to confirm that the base is visible and suitable for players who want to understand or recreate the design. Images that are unclear, incomplete, misleading, or unrelated to the selected base level may not be published.

3. Copy-Link Availability

When an in-game copy link is available, we check whether the link is present and appears to match the published layout. Copy links can stop working because of game changes, deleted layouts, account changes, or other technical reasons.

Players can report a broken or incorrect link so that we can review, replace, or remove it.

4. Duplicate and Low-Quality Submissions

We may reject or remove layouts that appear to duplicate an existing submission, contain an unusable image, include misleading information, or provide no meaningful value beyond an existing page.

5. Layout Description Review

Where a layout includes an editorial description, we aim to explain its intended purpose, likely defensive strengths, possible weaknesses, important building placements, and the types of attacks it may be designed to resist.

These observations are based on the visible structure of the layout and should not be treated as a guarantee of defensive performance.

Layout Review Status

Not every layout on the website receives the same level of review. The following terms may be used to help players understand what has been checked.

Community-Submitted Layout

A community-submitted layout has been provided by a website user or base creator. It may be checked for the correct base level, image availability, category, and copy-link information.

A community-submitted label does not mean that the layout has undergone controlled battle testing.

Editorially Reviewed Layout

An editorially reviewed layout has received an additional structural review. This may include an examination of defensive coverage, troop pathing, objective placement, likely entry routes, layout purpose, strengths, and weaknesses.

Editorial review is an analysis of the base design and is not the same as publishing verified defensive results.

Battle-Tested Layout

We use the term battle-tested only when a layout has been tested through recorded defensive battles, Friendly Challenges, wars, leagues, or another clearly described testing environment.

Where testing information is available, the layout page may include details such as:

  • The testing date
  • The number of recorded defenses
  • The Town Hall or Builder Hall level used
  • The types of armies faced
  • The stars and destruction conceded
  • The testing environment
  • Known limitations of the test sample

We do not describe a layout as battle-tested or proven when no supporting test information is available.

Community Ratings and Popularity

Some layout pages may display views, votes, ratings, copies, comments, or other community activity. These signals show how users interact with a layout, but they do not guarantee that it will successfully defend every attack.

A highly viewed or highly rated layout may be popular because of its appearance, intended use, creator reputation, publication date, or community interest. Popularity should not be interpreted as verified defensive performance unless testing information is also provided.

How We Prepare Guides

Our guides are created to help players understand base selection, base building, troop pathing, defensive placement, progression, game updates, and other Clash of Clans topics connected to the purpose of this website.

Official Sources

When a guide discusses game updates, troop statistics, building unlocks, release information, or confirmed features, we aim to check official Supercell announcements, release notes, and support information.

Facts and Predictions

Confirmed game information should be presented separately from predictions, expectations, community theories, and editorial opinions. Speculative information should not be described as officially confirmed.

Original Analysis

Where possible, our guides include original explanations, layout examples, annotated observations, practical recommendations, comparisons, or information gathered from layouts published on our platform.

Editorial Review

Before publication or during later updates, guides may be reviewed for factual accuracy, grammar, readability, source quality, internal linking, and relevance to Clash of Clans players.

Publication and Update Dates

Guides may display a publication date and a last-updated date. The updated date should be changed only when meaningful corrections, new information, or substantial improvements are added.

Corrections and Updates

Clash of Clans changes over time. Troops, defenses, buildings, Hero Machines, progression systems, and attack strategies may be adjusted through game updates. A layout or guide that was useful when published may become less effective or less accurate after a balance change.

We may update, reclassify, archive, or remove content when:

  • A copy link no longer works
  • A layout is listed under the wrong level or category
  • A duplicate layout is identified
  • A guide contains outdated or incorrect information
  • A game update changes the relevant mechanics
  • A creator requests a valid correction or removal
  • A submission violates our website rules

Reporting a Problem

Players and creators can contact us when they find a broken copy link, incorrect category, duplicate layout, unclear image, factual error, ownership concern, or outdated guide.

When reporting an issue, please include the page URL and a short explanation of what needs to be reviewed. Providing screenshots or official supporting information can help us investigate the issue more accurately.

No Layout Can Guarantee a Defense

No Clash of Clans layout is unbeatable. Defensive results depend on many factors, including building levels, wall levels, traps, Clan Castle troops, Hero levels, attacker skill, army composition, equipment, game balance changes, war conditions, trophy range, and the way the layout is used.

Layout descriptions and recommendations are intended to help players compare designs and make informed choices. They should not be interpreted as a promise that a base will prevent every one-star, two-star, three-star, or six-star attack.

Our Commitment to Transparency

We aim to clearly distinguish between community submissions, editorial analysis, popularity signals, and layouts supported by recorded testing information. When test evidence is unavailable, we avoid presenting assumptions as verified performance results.

Our goal is to build a useful Clash of Clans layout library that helps players discover bases, understand their design, identify possible weaknesses, and choose layouts that suit their current level and defensive goals.
