Strategy Explanation
This TH9 war base uses a tight diamond-within-diamond layout to slow entries and punish air-heavy attacks. The Town Hall, Clan Castle, and both X-Bows sit deep in the core, surrounded by a ring of high-HP storages and Wizard Towers. All four Air Defenses are tucked inside the second layer in the four quadrants, so they’re hard to snipe from any single side. Archer Towers and Teslas (place them on the outer ring) provide early air DPS while the two Air Sweepers cover opposite diagonals, repeatedly pushing Dragons and Loons off line and into seeking air mines.
The outer ring is packed with small compartments that split kill squads and make it tough for a Queen walk to step into the base without multiple wall breaks. Mortars and point defenses alternate around the ring to keep pressure on healers and funnel troops away from the core. Builder Huts and collectors are spaced around the edges to burn time and stop late cleanup.
Strengths
- Anti-Dragon core: Air Defenses centralized with Wizard Towers and X-Bows overlapping, plus sweepers covering opposite angles to scatter drags and Loons.
- Hard CC pull: Clan Castle sits central, making a lure costly or requiring a deep entry.
- Pathing control: Diamond compartments and offset defenses create awkward turns that split air and ground troops.
- Hog denial: Tight junctions between high-DPS point defenses are ideal for double-giant-bomb spots and spring traps to punish early heals.
- Time management: Corner/edge buildings space out cleanup and force attackers to commit a few troops early.
Trap & Sweeper Recommendations
- Place seeking air mines just outside each Air Defense in the path Dragons/Loons are most likely to take after the first push.
- Set skeleton traps to air for war; they stall Dragons under Wizard Tower/X-Bow fire.
- Use double giant bombs in the narrow pockets between point defenses on the long sides of the diamond for Hog riders.
- Aim the Air Sweepers along opposite diagonals to keep pushes from converging on the Town Hall.
Recommended War CC
Best all-around: Baby Dragon + 2–3 Valks + Wizards or Lava Hound for anti-air wars. Hound plus air traps makes Dragon and LaLoon hits miserable.
Attacker Scouting Notes
- Check for Tesla farm near an edge Archer Tower cluster; commit extra funnel troops if you see one pop.
- If charging the Queen, plan two rages and a jump to reach a Sweeper and an Air Defense; without that, the core holds.
- For Hogs, identify and pre-heal likely double-giant-bomb pockets between high-DPS pairs.
Build Variations
- Swap one Wizard Tower with a point defense if your clan faces frequent mass Hogs.
- If attackers keep ZapQuaking, spread the nearest two Air Defenses an extra tile apart within their compartments.
