Strategy Explanation

This TH9 war layout is a rotated diamond with a tight grid of small compartments. The Town Hall sits slightly south of center with the Clan Castle almost dead-center, making lures tough without committing a Jump or two sets of Wall Breakers. X-Bows anchor the core on opposite sides of the Town Hall, while Air Defenses sit in the second ring, each protected by layers of walls and point defenses. The heroes are split on different sides of the core so a single entry can’t remove both.

Outside the walls you’ll notice two pairs of Elixir Storages parked at the north and south tips. In war, these act as time sinks and funnel breakers. The perimeter is lined with Archer Towers and Cannons creating 360° chip damage, and the splash is staggered: Wizard Towers are placed on different edges, Mortars are pushed a bit deeper, and Air Sweepers face across the diamond to push LavaLoon paths off-course.

Pathing is the real trap here. The small, offset compartments pull ground troops around corners, and there are obvious double-giant-bomb pockets between inner ring defenses to punish Hog Riders. A Tesla cluster is visible around the Town Hall lane, spiking DPS when attackers think they’ve secured the core.

Strengths

  • Centralized CC and Town Hall force commitment; casual lures rarely work.
  • Layered rings create awkward pathing for Hogs and Bowlers, enabling double-giant-bomb detonations.
  • Air Defenses are not zap-friendly and sit behind point defenses with cross-cover from Air Sweepers.
  • Split heroes deny easy value from a single Queen charge.
  • Outside storages burn time and make funneling trickier for Witch or Pekka lines.
  • Teslas near the core elevate single-target pressure on enemy Queen and Lavaloon cleanup.

Building Placement Notes

  • Keep Wizard Towers staggered on separate sides as shown; don’t stack two together.
  • Maintain the X-Bows split across the Town Hall to cover both hero platforms and the CC radius.
  • Mortars slightly back from the edge help break up Bowler/Witch lines before they touch the inner ring.

Trap and CC Setup

  • Double Giant Bombs between inner ring defenses that Hogs path through after the first heal use the narrow pockets already present.
  • Spring Traps on the short, two-tile alleys between cannon–archer pairs around the diamond.
  • Air Bombs pulled toward Sweepers; Seeking Air Mines near likely healer paths on the entry side.
  • War CC: baby dragon + witch + archers or a hound for air-heavy metas; both are hard to lure from this center.

How to Defend With It

  • Place heroes on opposite sides of the core before war to deny combined value.
  • Scout for ZapLoon; if common, rotate a Sweeper to face the most popular flight lane.
  • Swap one Tesla with a corner trap occasionally to catch Queen walks by surprise.
