Strategy Explanation

This TH14 War Base uses a compact central Town Hall with several tight inner compartments wrapped by a wider ring of defenses and storages. The main idea is simple: force attackers to commit deep into the base before they can secure the Town Hall, while making clean movement around the core awkward for both ground and air armies.

The Town Hall sits in the middle with high-value defenses and support buildings packed close enough to create heavy core pressure, but not so exposed that a straight entry gets easy value. Around that core, the compartments are split into diagonal lanes, which helps break up pathing for smash attacks and makes hero movement less predictable. The upper side carries the Eagle Artillery in its own protected section, while the Infernos and X-Bows are spread across the inner ring rather than stacked on one side.

As a war and hybrid setup, this layout looks built to punish overcommitted entries. If an attacker sends a Queen Charge too directly toward the middle, she has to work through layers of walls and take fire from multiple angles. If they choose a wider funnel and try to sweep around the ring, they risk leaving the Town Hall for too late or losing control of the Eagle side. If the defensive structure fits what you need, you can use the copy-layout option to place it directly in Clash of Clans.

Strengths

This base has a strong balance between core protection and outside coverage, which is what you want from a TH14 hybrid war layout.

  • Central Town Hall: hard to take early without full commitment.
  • Layered compartments: slows heroes, Yeti Smash, and other direct ground pushes.
  • Wide defensive spread: key defenses are not all grouped into one Freeze target.
  • Eagle separation: the top section forces attackers to choose between Eagle access and Town Hall access.
  • Ring influence: troops can drift around the base instead of cutting straight through it.

Town Hall Core Protection

The core is the main selling point here. The Town Hall is enclosed by multiple wall layers and surrounded by defensive coverage from both sides of the inner ring. That makes simple hero dives less reliable, especially if the attacker cannot hold clean pathing into the center. Even when troops break inward, they are likely to split across adjacent compartments before fully collapsing on the Town Hall.

For war use, that matters because it often turns a planned safe two-star into a messy finish. Attackers can still secure the middle, but they usually need to spend real spell support and siege value to do it.

Ground Attack Pathing

Ground armies will usually look at the lower or side entries first because those areas offer more direct access into the ring. The problem is what happens after entry. The compartments are offset in a way that can peel Valkyries, Bowlers, or heroes sideways unless the funnel is very clean. Root-style or smash-style attacks want a straight line to the Town Hall, but this layout encourages a bend through the inner compartments instead.

The lower section also has enough defensive presence that a late push through the bottom can lose momentum before the army reaches the center. That makes this base useful against players who rely on simple line deployment instead of precise path control.

Air Attack Considerations

Against air, the biggest advantage is the base shape. It does not hand out easy straight flight lines through the Town Hall and Eagle together. The Air Defenses are spaced around the ring, and the sweep of the base encourages loons and dragons to drift rather than hold a perfect channel. That is especially useful against attacks that depend on tight movement through the middle.

Electro Dragon players may still see some chain value on the outside because several collectors and support buildings sit fairly close together around the edges. Even so, once the attack moves inward, the separated compartments reduce the value of a single chain carrying through the whole base.

Eagle Side Pressure

The Eagle Artillery being set toward the top adds an extra layer of decision-making for the attacker. If they ignore that section early, the Eagle keeps working while they push the core. If they start from the top to remove it, they still have a long route to the Town Hall and can lose momentum in the inner compartments.

This kind of split priority is useful in war because it prevents easy planning. A lot of TH14 attacks work best when the attacker can remove one major objective and naturally flow into the second. Here, the Eagle and Town Hall are close enough to matter together, but far enough apart that taking both cleanly is not automatic.

Why It Works as a Hybrid Layout

Although it is clearly built with war in mind, the storage placement and broad defensive coverage also make it reasonable as a hybrid base. Storages are spread through the middle ring instead of dumped on the outer edge, so attackers do not get free resource value without entering defended compartments. At th
