TH14 War Base Built to Disrupt Electro Dragon Spam

Strategy Explanation
This TH14 war base is built around compartment depth and uneven air pathing rather than a simple ring or box approach. The Town Hall sits slightly inside the lower core instead of being exposed on an edge, which forces attackers to commit deeper before securing the most important building. Around it, the base uses several separated compartments with defenses and storages split across the middle lanes, making it harder for Electro Dragons to get clean chain value through the entire base.
The layout does a good job of spreading key defenses across different angles. The Inferno Towers are not stacked on one side, and the heavier damage is spread through the middle third of the base. That matters against air spam because attackers cannot just push straight across one heavy section and expect the rest to collapse. The Air Defenses are also distributed well enough that a blimp or stone slammer path has to cross multiple layers of fire before reaching the core.
From the image, this looks like a war base meant to punish lazy funneling. The outside buildings are not arranged in a smooth circle, so E-Drags can drift if the initial funnel is not set correctly. Once that happens, the attack can split into side compartments while the Town Hall, core Infernos, and central damage continue working.
Strengths
The biggest strength here is how uncomfortable the air pathing looks for Electro Dragons. There are enough breaks, offsets, and side compartments to reduce easy chain lines into the core.
- Town Hall is protected by multiple layers rather than placed as a free early target.
- Central defenses are spaced so attackers do not get effortless freeze value on everything at once.
- Compartment count makes hero support and cleanup pathing less reliable.
- Air defenses are spread across the base instead of clustered into one freeze zone.
- Side sections can pull part of an air army away from the intended push line.
Town Hall and Core Protection
The Town Hall placement is one of the better parts of the layout. It is not sitting on the perimeter where a blimp can claim it with minimal commitment, and it is also not isolated in a way that gives obvious value to a straight-line push. The nearby core defenses create overlapping punishment once troops enter that section, especially if the attacker has already spent freezes on earlier compartments.
This also helps in war because it asks for commitment. An attacker cannot casually pick up percentage around the edges and then expect the Town Hall to fall for free. If the defensive structure suits your current setup, you can use the copy-layout option to load the base directly into Clash of Clans.
Electro Dragon Matchup
For an anti Electro Dragon setup, the spacing is the first thing that stands out. Buildings are not packed into easy chain groups across the entire base, and the central compartments interrupt long bounce sequences. That does not make the base immune to E-Drags, but it does force more precise funneling and better spell use.
The attack is also likely to lose momentum if the first line does not collapse cleanly. When Electro Dragons stall on storages or split around corners, the backend defenses stay active longer. That is exactly what you want from a TH14 anti-air war base.
Air Entry Angles
The safer looking entries are not necessarily the best ones here. Coming in from a broad side may feel natural, but the offset defenses can drag the attack off line. The lower side looks like the most direct route toward the Town Hall, which means many attackers will likely test that angle first. Because of that, the base gains value from making that path crowded and spell-intensive.
Entries from the upper corners look less direct and may struggle to maintain shape through the inner compartments. That can be useful in war, since forcing hesitation often leads to weaker blimp timing or poor freeze placement.
Ground Pressure and Wall Access
Even though this is clearly tuned for anti-air use, it is not a free target for ground attacks. The segmented interior means troops need repeated wall breaks or support spells to keep moving. If a smash attack enters without a strong funnel, it can drift into side compartments and leave the core damage standing.
That said, this base is still more likely to be broken by a patient, planned ground entry than by a careless spam hit. If you run it in Clan War or CWL, it makes the most sense when you expect a lot of Electro Dragon players and want to force cleaner execution than they usually get.
Best Use in War
This layout fits regular war and CWL defense where the main goal is to make popular air attacks uncomfortable rather than gamble on a trap-style one-star. It has enough core protection to resist casual two-star plans, and enough compartment spread to punish players who rely too heavily on straight-line Electro Dragon spam.
For TH14 players who see a lot of air-heavy war attacks, this is a sensible defensive choice with
