Strategy Explanation
This TH9 layout is built around making the attacker spend too much to reach the middle, then punishing the back end with overlapping defenses. The Town Hall sits inside a tight central compartment, with the Clan Castle and key splash coverage close enough to support it. The base uses a diamond-style shape, so troops do not get a simple straight-line path through the village.
Against Dragons, the main idea is to make the funnel awkward. The outside buildings are not all packed into one easy line, and the air-targeting defenses are spread through the inner rings instead of sitting exposed on the edge. A Dragon attack can still take the Town Hall if the attacker commits properly, but getting the full clear is much harder when Dragons drift around the core and take fire from multiple angles.
Strengths
- Good anti 3 star structure: the core is not easy to collapse quickly, and the outside ring slows down both air and ground cleanup.
- Useful anti-Dragon spacing: air defenses, wizard towers, archer towers and traps are positioned so Dragons cannot remove everything in one short push.
- Layered compartments: ground armies have to break through several sections instead of walking straight into the Town Hall.
- Central Clan Castle value: defensive troops are more likely to pull attackers into the middle rather than being dealt with cheaply from the edge.
- Balanced coverage: splash and point defenses are spread across the base, which helps against mixed TH9 attacks.
Anti-Dragon Pathing
The biggest value in this TH9 base is the way it forces Dragons to choose between the outer ring and the core. If the attacker starts with a loose funnel, Dragons can split around the diamond instead of pushing directly through the Town Hall. That usually leaves a few defenses standing late, which is exactly what an anti 3 star layout wants.
The air defenses are not all sitting in one easy zap line, and the splash coverage around the middle helps punish Balloons that are sent behind Dragons. This makes it a solid copy layout choice for players seeing a lot of Dragon, DragLoon, or early air spam attacks in war.
Core and Clan Castle Control
The central area is tight enough to protect the most important value, but it still has enough compartment breaks to slow ground troops. The Clan Castle placement is especially useful because attackers cannot always lure it safely without committing troops. If the CC is filled with annoying defensive troops, it can stall a Queen Charge or force extra spells before the main attack even begins.
Ground Attack Resistance
For ground armies, the wall layout creates several small decisions. Giants and Golems can get pulled into side compartments, while Wizards and cleanup troops may get stuck working around the edges. The defensive spread also means attackers cannot remove every wizard tower and bomb tower-style splash zone early.
It is still important to keep traps updated around likely Hog paths. If you use the copy layout option, check your trap placement after pasting and make sure spring traps and bombs sit between defenses where Hogs naturally travel.
Best Use for This TH9 Layout
This base fits war or CWL-style defense when your main goal is stopping the 3 star rather than hiding loot. It is especially practical for TH9 players who want a compact anti air base without leaving the Town Hall completely exposed. Copy it, test it against your clanmates, and adjust traps based on the attacks you face most often.
