TH9 Farming Base with Central Core and Anti-Dragon Coverage
Latest Reviews
Strategy Explanation
This TH9 Farming Base uses a layered ring of small compartments around a tight central core. The Town Hall sits near the middle beside key storages, while the defenses are spread in a way that forces attackers to keep breaking walls instead of getting smooth movement through the base. For farming, that central placement matters because the most valuable loot is not sitting on an exposed edge.
The air defenses are placed in different sections rather than stacked together, which helps cover multiple angles against dragons. The two air sweepers also appear offset inside the base, so air attacks do not get one simple straight-line route through the center. Wizard towers are spread around the ring and can support both anti-air cleanup and defense against lighter support troops behind a tank line.
Ground attacks are likely pushed into awkward choices. A direct entry toward the center still has to pass several compartments, and side entries can drift around the ring instead of locking cleanly onto the core. That is useful for anti 2-star play at TH9 because attackers may secure percentage from outer buildings but still need extra time and wall breaks to finish the Town Hall compartment. The layout also makes it harder to grab everything with one clean push, since defenses and storages are distributed across several pockets.
The outer layer includes collectors and support buildings that create natural funnel noise. That can pull heroes or spam troops wide if the attacker does not trim carefully first. If you want to use the copy option, this is the kind of layout worth testing because small changes in wall shape and building order matter a lot at TH9.
Strengths
The main strength here is how much work an attacker has to do before reaching the core. The base does not give away a fast Town Hall line, and the ring structure can waste troop pathing on side compartments.
- Protected core: The Town Hall and important storages are not exposed on any edge.
- Compartment depth: Multiple small sections reduce the value of a simple wall break into the center.
- Air defense spacing: Dragons do not get one obvious sweep across all air-targeting defenses.
- Distributed splash: Wizard towers cover different sides, which helps against balloons behind dragons and against farming troops.
- Good anti-3-star shape: The circular flow can cause troops to walk around the base instead of collapsing inward.
Air Attack Considerations
This design clearly respects dragon attacks. The air defenses are not all sitting close together, and the core is busy enough to make clean balloon support harder. That said, dragons at TH9 often succeed when they get a short route and compact chain value, so the defender benefits from the uneven internal structure here. Attackers will usually need to commit real funneling on at least one side before sending the main air push.
The air sweepers being positioned inside the layout also add friction to direct entries. Even when a dragon attack starts wide, the push is less likely to stay perfectly lined up all the way through the center.
Ground Pathing and Wall Pressure
Against giants, golems, valkyries, or hog-supported entries, the biggest defensive tool is wall pressure. There are several points where troops can be dragged into side compartments before they move inward. That buys time for point defenses and X-Bows to keep firing while the attacker spends extra wall breaks or jump value.
Because the core is compact, a ground army that reaches it can still take a lot quickly. The goal of the layout is not to stop all entry, but to make reaching that point slower and less efficient.
Loot Protection Value
For farming use, this layout makes practical sense. Storages are mostly kept inside the defended ring instead of being sacrificed on the outside, and the dark elixir storage is especially well protected near the middle. That forces raiders to commit beyond easy collector snipes if they want meaningful loot.
The outer collectors will still be lost in many attacks, which is normal for a farming setup. What this design does well is separate free percentage from the real prize. An attacker can clear the edge, but taking the center usually costs a larger commitment.
Best Use for This Layout
This is a sensible choice for everyday TH9 resource protection with enough anti-air structure to stay useful against common dragon hits. It also has anti 2-star value because the Town Hall is not casually reachable from one wall layer. In war, strong attackers can still plan through it, but for regular village defense it offers a balanced mix of loot security, central pressure, and awkward pathing.
