COC Bases: Best TH18 Anti 2 Star Layouts (Copy Links)

Stop safe Town Hall snipes and percentage grabs with TH18 anti-2-star bases built to protect the Town Hall deep, punish blimps, and force risky full attacks. Copy any base instantly with 1-tap links.

How to Choose the Best TH18 Anti-2-Star Base

A TH18 anti-2-star base is designed to make the Town Hall and 50 percent destruction difficult to secure in the same attack. Protecting only the Town Hall is not enough when attackers can collect easy percentage from exposed buildings before committing to the center.

The best TH18 anti-2-star layout for your village should control outside percentage, complicate Battle Blimp routes and make a direct Town Hall attack require meaningful Heroes, spells, equipment or Siege Machine support. It should also preserve enough defenses around the remaining buildings to prevent an easy transition from the Town Hall to the second star.

Use the layouts on this page as starting designs for Clan Wars, Clan War Leagues, Ranked defense or other situations where star denial is the priority. Compare Town Hall access, Guardian coverage, perimeter protection, defensive Clan Castle activation and anti-Blimp structure before selecting a base.

Protected Town Hall Access

The Town Hall should require a substantial commitment rather than being available through a cheap Hero dive or unchallenged Siege Machine route. Walls, traps, the selected Guardian and nearby defenses should work together.

Avoid concentrating every major defense beside the Town Hall. An overloaded compartment may allow one successful entry to remove the Town Hall and enough defensive value to make 50 percent easy afterward.

Controlled Outside Percentage

Selected perimeter buildings should remain under defensive coverage so attackers cannot clear half of the village safely before approaching the Town Hall.

Outside buildings can still create travel time and influence funnels, but excessive exposure gives attackers easy percentage and cleaner entry paths.

Layered Anti-Blimp Coverage

Battle Blimps may approach the Town Hall from direct or diagonal angles. Sweepers, Seeking Air Mines, Air Bombs, the Tornado Trap and defensive towers should cover several realistic routes.

Do not depend on one trap beside the Town Hall. Attackers may test the path, approach from another side or protect the Blimp with abilities and spells.

Difficult Town Hall Follow-Up

After reaching the Town Hall, the attacking army should not receive a straight route through enough buildings to secure 50 percent.

Offset compartments and separated defensive sections can force troops to turn, divide or travel through additional damage after the Town Hall falls.

What Is an Anti-2-Star Base at Town Hall 18?

Stars are earned by destroying the Town Hall, reaching 50 percent destruction and completing the full clear. An anti-2-star layout concentrates on preventing attackers from combining the first two objectives efficiently.

This does not necessarily mean placing the Town Hall in the exact center. Central, offset and teaser Town Hall positions can all support anti-2-star defense when the surrounding percentage, Guardian coverage and pathing are planned correctly.

The category is different from anti-3-star design. An anti-3-star base may accept two stars while preserving difficult back-end defenses. An anti-2-star layout places greater emphasis on Town Hall access and the amount of percentage attackers can collect before or after reaching it.

Town Hall Denial

The layout should force attackers to invest enough army strength that a failed Town Hall attempt can also endanger the percentage objective.

Percentage Denial

Buildings needed for 50 percent should not all sit safely around the edge. Attackers should eventually enter meaningful defensive coverage to continue increasing destruction.

Choosing the Right Town Hall Position

Town Hall placement determines which side looks attractive, where a Battle Blimp is likely to travel and how the Guardian interacts with the attacking army. Each placement style creates a different anti-2-star trade-off.

Central Town Hall

A central Town Hall can require attackers to pass through several defensive layers before securing it. This may force early use of Hero abilities, freezes and Siege support.

Protect the core without placing the Town Hall, Monolith, both Spell Towers, Super Wizard Tower and every splash defense in one compact landing zone.

Offset Town Hall

An offset Town Hall can pull attackers toward one side while protected percentage and major defenses remain elsewhere.

The Town Hall should not be so close to the deployment edge that an isolated Hero or short Blimp route can secure it without committing the main army.

Teaser Town Hall

A teaser placement makes one route appear attractive. That approach should lead into traps, Guardian pressure and overlapping defenses.

The remaining percentage should be difficult to collect after the Town Hall is taken. Otherwise, the teaser becomes a safe two-star route.

Town Hall and Percentage Separation

Buildings that provide easy destruction should not be concentrated along the same approach used to reach the Town Hall.

Force attackers to choose between preparing a safe Town Hall route and collecting percentage efficiently on another side.

Using the TH18 Guardian for Anti-2-Star Defense

Only one Guardian can defend at a time. The selected Guardian and its patrol route should make the intended Town Hall approach more expensive without being easy to pull away during the opening.

After copying a base, inspect the Guardian route directly in the village. Confirm that it covers the expected Town Hall entry and receives support from nearby defenses.

Support the Town Hall Zone

The Guardian should engage while Inferno Towers, the Monolith, Spell Towers, the Super Wizard Tower or other defenses remain active.

A Guardian fighting alone can be isolated or controlled without creating enough pressure.

Avoid an Easy Pull

Check whether an inexpensive troop, Hero or summoned unit can draw the Guardian away from the Town Hall before the main attack begins.

Separate Defensive Encounters

Avoid grouping the Guardian with every defending Hero and high-value defense. One spell or equipment ability should not control the complete defensive group.

Match the Guardian to the Base

Compare the available Guardian options according to the Town Hall position, expected air and ground routes and surrounding compartments.

How to Control Easy Percentage

Protecting the Town Hall has limited anti-2-star value when attackers can reach 45 or 50 percent without entering the main defensive structure. Perimeter buildings should be arranged according to both coverage and funnel behavior.

  • Cover selected outside buildings: use Archer Towers, Cannons, Teslas or other defenses to prevent completely safe cleanup.
  • Use storages as buffers: high-hitpoint resource buildings can delay troops while nearby defenses continue attacking.
  • Avoid long unprotected rows: collectors, camps and Barracks should not create an easy path around half of the village.
  • Protect important corners: corner buildings can create time pressure, but they should not be the only percentage-control method.
  • Break simple funnels: outside buildings should not guide every army toward the Town Hall through the same clean route.
  • Preserve interior percentage: enough buildings should remain behind meaningful defensive coverage after the opening.

Planning against Battle Blimp Town Hall Attacks

A Battle Blimp can attempt to secure the Town Hall without committing the main army to the same route. Anti-2-star layouts should make that delivery uncertain and ensure that a successful Blimp does not automatically provide easy follow-up percentage.

Review Every Direct Route

Inspect straight and diagonal Blimp paths from each side. Identify approaches that cross the fewest defenses or avoid Air Sweeper coverage.

Separate Blimp Landing Value

The Town Hall, Monolith, Spell Towers and Super Wizard Tower should not all sit inside one compact landing zone.

One successful delivery should not destroy enough defenses to make 50 percent easy for the remaining army.

Account for Protected Blimps

Attackers may use the Grand Warden, Hero abilities, Freeze, Rage, Clone or Invisibility support. Build layered coverage instead of relying on one trap.

Place the Tornado Trap with Damage

Use the Tornado Trap where its delay keeps the Blimp or delivered troops inside active defensive coverage.

Delaying units after nearby defenses have already been removed provides less practical value.

Preserving the Revenge Tower

The Revenge Tower becomes stronger as buildings are destroyed. This makes it useful for percentage control because it can gain power while attackers clear the outside of the village.

Position it away from inexpensive opening value while keeping it relevant to the Town Hall or percentage route. An isolated Revenge Tower that covers no likely path will contribute little even if it survives.

  • Avoid early Hero value: do not place it beside an obvious funnel target that attackers can remove during setup.
  • Keep it near later percentage: its range should affect troops as they move beyond the initial outside buildings.
  • Separate it from the Town Hall landing zone: one Blimp should not remove both objectives together.
  • Review its survival in replays: determine whether it remains active long enough to reach stronger stages.

Using the Super Wizard Tower for Percentage Control

The Super Wizard Tower can chain its defensive attacks across several nearby enemies. It can pressure grouped cleanup troops, summoned units and main-army sections moving between percentage buildings.

Protect it from inexpensive opening removal, but avoid grouping it with every major Town Hall defense. Its placement should contribute to a separate percentage or follow-up zone.

Cover Grouped Cleanup Troops

Position the tower where attackers are likely to deploy several troops around defended outside or middle-layer buildings.

Preserve It after the Town Hall

Keeping the Super Wizard Tower away from the primary Town Hall landing zone can preserve chain damage for the percentage phase of the attack.

Defensive Clan Castle Planning

Defensive Clan Castle troops can delay a Town Hall push, force spell usage or interrupt percentage collection. Their value depends on activation timing and nearby defensive support.

Avoid a Safe Lure

Check whether one inexpensive troop or Hero can activate all defending reinforcements and pull them away before the main attack begins.

Support the Reinforcements

Clan Castle troops should engage while nearby defenses remain active. Reinforcements fighting alone outside the village are easier to isolate.

Match Troops to the Objective

Choose reinforcements that support the Town Hall, percentage or follow-up route instead of using the same defensive combination for every layout.

Confirm the Saved Setup

Make sure the intended defensive troops are selected before war, CWL or Ranked defense becomes active.

Planning against Ground Town Hall Entries

Ground armies may use Heroes, high-hitpoint troops, wall-opening tools and spells to create a direct route toward the Town Hall. An anti-2-star base should make that route expensive without exposing easy percentage elsewhere.

Hero Dives

One Hero route should not remove the Town Hall, Guardian, Clan Castle, Monolith and several percentage buildings together.

Use wall offsets and separated objectives to increase the required commitment.

Smash and High-Hitpoint Armies

Avoid one direct path through the Town Hall and enough nearby buildings to reach 50 percent.

Side compartments should force the main army to change direction or leave protected percentage behind.

Miner and Hog Rider Routes

These troops move between defensive buildings. Place Giant Bombs, Spring Traps and splash defenses along realistic target paths near the Town Hall and protected percentage zones.

Wall-Opening Access

Review routes created by wall-breaking troops and Siege Machines. One opening should not provide direct access to the Town Hall and several interior percentage compartments.

Planning against Air Town Hall Entries

Air armies may use Electro Dragons, Dragons, Balloons, Lava Hounds, flying Heroes and Battle Blimps. An anti-2-star layout should protect the Town Hall route while preventing easy cleanup around the remaining village.

Reduce Electro Dragon Chains

Separate important buildings enough to reduce repeated chain value. Avoid excessive spacing that gives attackers easy percentage and cleanup.

Control Balloon Targeting

Review defense-to-defense movement toward the Town Hall and preserve Air Bombs or splash damage for Balloons that survive the opening.

Review Air Sweeper Directions

Point Sweepers toward attractive Town Hall and Blimp entries. Their directions should match the funnel created by outside buildings.

Preserve Air Damage elsewhere

Keep meaningful air-targeting defenses away from the main Town Hall route so a successful Blimp or air push does not remove the entire anti-air plan.

Recommended Trap Principles for TH18 Anti-2-Star Bases

Trap placement should support both Town Hall denial and percentage control. These are starting principles rather than fixed combinations for every layout.

  • Tornado Trap near active Town Hall defenses: use its delay where surrounding towers can continue attacking a Blimp, Hero or troop group.
  • Seeking Air Mines on probable Blimp paths: cover direct and diagonal Town Hall approaches without stacking every mine together.
  • Air Bombs on grouped Balloon routes: place them where flying troops are likely to collect after changing defensive targets.
  • Giant Bombs on deep ground routes: position them where Miners, Hog Riders or support troops are likely to travel.
  • Spring Traps on important crossings: Spring Traps now target one troop, so use them where affecting a high-Housing-Space unit could disrupt the Town Hall push.
  • Skeleton Trap modes: choose ground or air according to the Hero, troop or Siege route the trap should delay.
  • Percentage-zone traps: preserve some traps away from the Town Hall to challenge troops collecting the second star.

How to Compare TH18 Anti-2-Star Layouts

Do not choose a layout only because its Town Hall appears deeply centralized. Compare whether attackers can collect the Town Hall and 50 percent efficiently through the same plan.

  • Inspect Town Hall access: identify the Heroes, spells or Siege support needed to reach it.
  • Count safe percentage: estimate how many outside buildings can be removed without entering defensive range.
  • Review the follow-up route: check whether taking the Town Hall opens an easy path to 50 percent.
  • Check Guardian selection: confirm that the selected Guardian and patrol area support the intended approach.
  • Inspect defensive Clan Castle activation: avoid an inexpensive lure before the main commitment.
  • Review Blimp paths: inspect direct and diagonal approaches toward the Town Hall.
  • Check major-defense concentration: one Town Hall attack should not remove every important defense.
  • Review Sweeper directions: make sure they influence the most attractive air approaches.
  • Inspect trap distribution: traps should protect the Town Hall and percentage routes rather than one location only.
  • Check protected interior buildings: enough percentage should remain behind meaningful defenses after the opening.

How to Use TH18 Anti-2-Star Copy Links

Select a TH18 anti-2-star base copy link to open the design in the Clash of Clans Layout Editor. Confirm that every available building, defense, wall and trap has been placed before saving it.

After copying, review Guardian selection and patrol area, Air Sweeper directions, Inferno Tower modes, Spell Tower settings, Skeleton Trap modes, defensive Clan Castle troops and the active Crafted Defense.

Confirm that the copied layout is selected in the correct defensive, war or Ranked slot. Saving a base in the editor does not always mean it is active for the next defense.

A working one-tap copy link makes installation easier, but it does not prove that the base has been tested against every TH18 army or guarantee that it will prevent two stars.

Testing a TH18 Anti-2-Star Base

Friendly Challenges can help reveal easy Town Hall access, safe percentage and predictable Battle Blimp routes before using a layout in an important war.

  • Test a direct Town Hall plan: determine how much commitment is required to secure the first star.
  • Test outside percentage: check how close attackers can get to 50 percent without entering the main defenses.
  • Test a Blimp route: review whether one delivery can secure the Town Hall and remove too much surrounding damage.
  • Test ground and air approaches: a layout that protects the Town Hall from one attack family may expose it to another.
  • Change one feature at a time: targeted changes make it easier to identify which adjustment affected the result.

Common TH18 Anti-2-Star Base Mistakes

  • Protecting only the Town Hall: attackers may reach 50 percent safely before committing to it.
  • Leaving excessive outside percentage: rows of unprotected buildings can create an easy second-star path.
  • Creating an overloaded core: one Blimp or Hero dive may remove the Town Hall and several major defenses together.
  • Using an inexpensive teaser Town Hall: a baited route without meaningful punishment may provide a safe first star.
  • Leaving an easy Guardian pull: attackers may remove the Guardian before starting the Town Hall push.
  • Allowing an easy Clan Castle lure: defending troops may be removed before the main army is deployed.
  • Stacking every air trap near the Town Hall: other air routes and percentage sections may receive no trap pressure.
  • Depending on one Tornado Trap: prepared attackers may test, bypass or protect troops through the area.
  • Using outdated Spring Trap assumptions: the trap now targets one troop rather than launching an entire group.
  • Ignoring the route after the Town Hall: the remaining army may receive a simple path to enough percentage for the second star.
  • Leaving every important defense in the core: successful Town Hall access may remove all meaningful follow-up resistance.
  • Replacing the base after one result: one two-star or three-star attack does not necessarily reveal a repeated weakness.

When Should You Adjust a TH18 Anti-2-Star Layout?

Review several defensive replays and look for repeated relationships between Town Hall access and percentage. Note whether attackers repeatedly use the same Blimp path, Hero route, safe perimeter section or follow-up funnel.

Begin with a targeted change. Move one outside building, adjust a Sweeper, revise a wall opening, redistribute a trap group, change the Guardian patrol area or protect a weak percentage section.

Review additional defenses after the adjustment. Confirm that stronger Town Hall protection has not created easier outside percentage and that improved percentage control has not opened a cheaper Town Hall route.

Should You Rotate TH18 Anti-2-Star Bases?

Layout rotation may help when repeated opponents have studied the same Town Hall route or when several attacks use an identical safe plan.

Do not rotate automatically after one successful two-star attack. A targeted change may be enough when the layout continues to make other attackers commit significant resources.

How These TH18 Anti-2-Star Layouts Are Reviewed

Layouts may be community-submitted or editorially reviewed for their Town Hall level, visible structure, category relevance, image quality and copy-link availability. Editorial review may include Town Hall access, outside percentage, Guardian coverage, defensive Clan Castle activation and likely Blimp routes.

Publication does not automatically mean that a layout has undergone controlled testing against every TH18 strategy or that it will prevent two stars in every defense.

Read the layout review methodology for information about submissions, editorial checks, corrections and testing labels.
