TH14 War Base with Offset Town Hall and Anti 3 Star Core
Latest Reviews
Strategy Explanation
This TH14 War Base uses an offset Town Hall setup instead of giving attackers a clean center target. The core is stretched through multiple narrow compartments, with key defenses spread so one push does not collect everything at once. The Town Hall sits in the lower-right side of the base, protected by surrounding defenses and walls, while the middle lanes force troops to walk through damage rather than taking a direct route across the base.
The defensive idea here looks focused on making 3-star plans awkward. Ground armies do not get a simple line through the core, and air attacks have to commit through layered defenses instead of sweeping around one side. The Scattershots, Inferno Towers, Eagle Artillery, and X-Bows are distributed well enough that attackers need several stages of value instead of one clean entry. The compartments also limit how smoothly heroes and support troops can move once they break the first wall layer.
There is also decent separation between major targets. Even if an attacker claims the Town Hall early, they still need to finish through the rest of the core and back-end defenses. If this defensive structure fits your war setup, you can use the copy-layout option to place it directly in Clash of Clans.
Strengths
This layout does a good job of denying clean momentum. It is not built around one obvious kill squad entry, and that alone makes war planning less comfortable.
- Offset Town Hall: attackers cannot treat the Town Hall as a free center objective.
- Layered compartments: wall breaks need to be planned well or troops can stall and split.
- Spread major defenses: high-value targets are not stacked together for easy spell value.
- Back-end pressure: even after core progress, there are still point defenses and splash threats waiting on the outer side.
- Awkward pathing: side compartments can pull troops away from the ideal route.
Town Hall Side Pressure
The lower-right Town Hall placement is one of the main features of this base. It is protected enough to punish a lazy push, but it is still reachable if an attacker commits heavily to that quadrant. That creates a tradeoff: taking the Town Hall can cost a lot of heroes, spells, or siege value, which then leaves less for the rest of the base.
In war, that is useful because many TH14 attacks are built around safe 2-star control first and cleanup second. This layout pressures that decision by making the Town Hall available, but not cheap.
Core Pathing and Compartment Control
The center of the base is where this layout gets most of its anti-3 value. Instead of one open core, there are several channels and offsets that can pull troops sideways. That matters a lot against hybrid, dragons, and smash attacks. If the first wall break or jump is slightly off, troops can drift into side compartments and leave key defenses active.
The Infernos and core defenses are placed so they continue working while the attacker moves between compartments. Even when one section falls, the next layer is already in position to keep the push under pressure.
Air Attack Considerations
Against air, the base benefits from not giving a simple straight line across the heaviest defenses. The Air Defenses appear spread across separate zones, and the sweep of the base shape can make blimp timing more awkward. A dragon or Dragon Rider player will usually want to remove one flank first, but that takes time and support.
This is also a decent anti-Electro Dragon style because the compartments break up the center and reduce the chance of one massive chain carrying the whole attack. It is not chain-proof, especially on the edges, but it does not offer the easy compact value that many e-drag players want.
Ground Attack Matchups
Ground armies should find the compartment count annoying. Root-style pathing is less direct here, and hero support can get dragged off route if the funnel is not perfect. Hog and Miner hybrid attacks may still push through part of the base well, but they need strong early value to keep the path under control.
Smash attacks also have to choose carefully between diving for the Town Hall or entering through the broader side compartments first. Either choice can leave awkward cleanup later, which is exactly what you want from an Anti 3 Star TH14 War Base.
Best Use in War
This layout makes the most sense as a regular war or CWL base where forcing awkward decisions matters more than baiting one specific attack. It asks attackers to commit to a clear plan, and if that plan slips even a little, the compartment structure can turn a strong attack into a safe 2-star instead of a triple.
