Strategy Explanation

This TH4 war base uses a compact diamond core with layered compartments to waste attacker time and split their Giants. The Town Hall sits in the center box with key defenses tucked right around it: the Mortar covers almost the entire base from the inner ring, and the Air Defense is protected so Balloons can’t snipe it early. Storages are split—gold toward the upper core, elixir in the lower side compartments—so a single push can’t grab both and the Town Hall at once. A thin outer ring and small corridors force pathing into spring traps and away from the Town Hall. Non-defensive buildings are stretched along the top edge to burn seconds and make 3-stars harder.

Against beginner war armies (Giants + Archers/Barbs, or early Balloons), the entry choices are all awkward: come from the bottom and you meet double point fire plus Mortar splash; come from the sides and troops walk the edges or hop compartment to compartment while the core stays safe.

Strengths

  • Centralized core: Town Hall, Clan Castle, and splash/air cover are layered together, making it hard to snipe the TH.
  • Anti-Giant pathing: Narrow compartments and turns pull Giants across corners, exposing them to Cannons/Archer Towers while spring traps pick them off.
  • Air protection: The Air Defense is not touching walls and sits behind cover, so Balloons must clear multiple defenses first.
  • Time denier: Builder Huts, Camps, and Barracks spread across the top side slow cleanup and punish low troop counts.
  • Split storages: Gold and elixir are on opposite sides of the core; attackers can’t profit and secure the TH in one sweep.

  • Core: Town Hall with Mortar and Air Defense nearby, plus Clan Castle centered for maximum lure difficulty.
  • Inner ring: Cannons and Archer Towers on opposite sides to crossfire any entry.
  • Storages: Gold storages tucked upper core; elixir storages in the lower side boxes.
  • Exterior: Huts/Camps/Barracks stretched along the top to tax enemy time.

Trap Placement Tips

  • Place spring traps on the narrow turns where Giants step between compartments toward the Town Hall.
  • Hide bombs just inside the first layer near common Archer stack points (bottom corners or right edge).

How to Defend Common TH4 Attacks

  • Giants + Archers: Don’t move the Mortar—its central coverage is the reason this push stalls. Keep springs on the first bend.
  • Balloons: Air Defense must stay protected; avoid pushing it to the edge when tweaking buildings.

Clan Castle Troop Suggestions

  • Baby Dragon (rage on empty air) or Valkyrie for splash vs Archers.
  • If those aren’t available: 1 Wizard + Archers works great at TH4.

Setup & Tweaks

  • Keep builder huts spread on the top edge; that time drain often prevents the third star.
  • If your war opponent favors air, swap a Cannon with an Archer Tower to bring more AA coverage to the most likely entry.
