Strategy Explanation

This TH4 war layout runs on a narrow diamond spine from top to bottom. The Town Hall sits slightly left of center, boxed in beside two side‑by‑side Elixir Storages. The Clan Castle is tucked just to the right of the core, hard to lure without committing troops. An Air Defense sits near that right core as well, while the Mortar is a step lower in its own pocket, covering most of the base. You’ll spot three Cannons split top and bottom (one at the top tip, two guarding the lower corners), and two Archer Towers placed mid‑left and mid‑right for crossfire. Two Gold Storages anchor the lower core. Collectors, Barracks, and Camps are fanned around the outside to waste time and mess with pathing.

The idea is simple: giants walk into tight compartments, hit springs, and get stalled under Mortar splash while Archer Towers and Cannons cross‑shoot. Balloons struggle to snipe because the AD is central and the Archer Towers overlap it well. The split storages and offset Town Hall make it a true hybrid—defends stars and protects loot in regular play while still being stubborn in war.

Strengths

  • Anti‑Giants pathing: The narrow, stair‑stepped compartments funnel giants straight down the spine where spring traps fit perfectly at junctions.
  • Centralized coverage: Mortar and Air Defense sit close to the core; CC is hard to lure, forcing attackers to open walls first.
  • Crossfire on entries: Archer Towers on left/right and a top Cannon punish early snipes and prevent easy funnel creation.
  • Split resources: Elixir high with TH, Gold low—raids from one side don’t take everything.
  • Time drain: Outer buildings are spaced to slow cleanup and force extra troops.

Trap Placement Guide

  • Spring traps: Place them at the narrow junctions along the central spine—especially between the Town Hall box and the lower Mortar pocket, and between the top Cannon pocket and the first interior turn.
  • Bombs: Tuck small bombs just outside key walls where Archers stack on cannons/ATs, and between the two Gold Storages to punish sappers and cleanup.

Clan Castle Recommendations

  • Best defensive fill: 1 Baby Dragon (10 housing) for brutal ground denial. If not available, 1 Valkyrie + 2 Archers also shreds giants.
  • Center your CC exactly as shown to make lures expensive—attackers must break in first.

War Usage Tips

  • Scout for likely entry and shift a spring trap one tile toward that approach just before war goes live.
  • Don’t stack all builders in corners—keep one top and one bottom to preserve time pressure without giving free percentage.
  • If you expect Balloons, rotate an Archer Tower upgrade first and keep the AD fully maxed.

Upgrade Priorities

  1. Air Defense → Archer Towers → Mortar
  2. Springs to max, then Cannons
  3. Walls on the spine last, but keep key junctions upgraded early
