Strategy Explanation

This TH17 layout uses a wide diamond-style structure with the highest value defenses pulled into protected inner sections instead of being handed out on the edge. The core is not easy to walk into from one clean line, which is the main reason this base fits anti 2 star and anti 3 star play in Legend League. Attackers have to decide whether they want to invest heavily into the upper core or work through the heavier lower compartments first.

The outside buildings are spread far enough to make simple funneling slower, while the inner walls create awkward troop movement once the first layer is broken. Spam armies can still enter, but they are likely to split around the central pocket rather than move smoothly through every key defense. That gives the base a good chance to force time pressure, missed hero value, or a low-percentage two star.

Strengths

  • Protected diamond core: The main defensive value sits behind several wall layers, making direct Town Hall-style dives more expensive.
  • Good anti 2 star shape: The layout makes it uncomfortable to grab the core and percentage at the same time without a strong plan.
  • Split lower compartments: The bottom half has dense defensive pockets that can punish Root Rider, Dragon, or hero-heavy entries if pathing breaks.
  • Legend League friendly: The base is broad, symmetrical, and time-consuming, which is useful against daily one-shot attacks.

Diamond Core and Entry Control

The strongest feature here is the diamond-shaped core near the top-middle. It forces attackers to commit spells, heroes, or siege support before they can reach the most important section of the base. A straight-line push from the bottom has to pass through heavy compartments first, while a top entry still needs to break through a boxed defensive ring.

This structure is especially annoying for attacks that rely on momentum. If troops drift left or right after the first compartment, they can leave the core standing and lose the clean path needed for a triple.

Lower Compartment Damage Zone

The lower half is packed with layered defenses and staggered compartments. This is where a lot of spam attacks will try to start, because it looks like the widest access point. The problem is that the compartments do not give one smooth lane into the base. Troops can get caught chewing through side buildings, storages, and wall sections while defenses keep firing from behind.

For anti 3 star value, this is important. Even if the attacker takes the first few defenses, the army may arrive at the center weakened, late, or split into smaller groups.

Trap and Spell Tower Value

The central channel and compact defensive pockets are good areas for traps because attackers are likely to send their main army or heroes through them. Spring traps, air traps, and high-damage bombs can all get better value when troops are forced through narrow movement lines. If you copy this layout, it is worth keeping the trap placement close to the original unless you have a clear reason to adjust it for your league meta.

Best Use for This TH17 Base

This base is best suited for Legend League defense and players who want a practical anti 2 star layout with enough depth to also stop sloppy triples. Use the copy layout option if you want a ready-made TH17 base that does not rely on one gimmick, but instead makes the attacker work through layered walls, split pathing, and a protected core.
