Strategy Explanation

This TH17 layout is built around a protected central core rather than giving the attacker a clean Town Hall path from one edge. The Town Hall sits inside layered walls with high-value defenses close enough to punish a direct push, but not stacked so tightly that one spell cycle removes everything. That makes it a useful war or CWL base when you want to make the safe 2-star plan feel awkward.

The base uses a wide diamond-style structure with several offset compartments. Attackers can get percentage from the outside, but moving from the outer ring into the core is not straightforward. Wall breakers, Root Riders, heroes, and siege machines are encouraged to drift into side compartments instead of walking straight through the middle.

Strengths

  • Protected Town Hall access: the core is not easily reached from a single entry, which helps against simple blimp, hero dive, and spam-style openers.
  • Layered compartments: the staggered walls slow ground troops and make pathing less predictable once the first compartment is cleared.
  • Spread defensive value: key damage buildings are separated across the base, so attackers do not get one huge value pocket for free.
  • Good hybrid utility: it keeps enough resource and trash value outside to work as a hybrid layout while still playing like a war base in the center.

Town Hall Access and Core Pressure

The Town Hall placement is the main feature here. It is deep enough that a direct dive has to deal with multiple layers, nearby hero pressure, and heavy defenses before the attacker can safely secure it. This is especially useful against players who rely on a simple blimp-to-Town-Hall plan, because the surrounding compartments do not leave an obvious low-risk landing zone.

Ground armies also have to commit properly. If they enter from the wrong angle, troops can split around the core instead of locking onto the Town Hall compartment. That is exactly what you want from an anti 2 star base: not an impossible core, but a core that forces commitment.

Compartment Shape and Funnel Control

The strongest part of this layout is the way the walls break the base into angled lanes. There are enough openings and turns to tempt troops toward side defenses, storages, and hero platforms. This can ruin the timing for Root Riders, Super Bowlers, and hero-led pushes if the attacker does not create a very clean funnel first.

The outside buildings are not packed in a perfect ring either. That matters because funnel troops can spend extra time walking, and late cleanup can become uncomfortable if the main army stalls inside the base. In war, those small delays often decide whether a hit finishes with two stars or falls short on the Town Hall push.

Air and Spam Defense Coverage

The defensive coverage is spread across both sides of the base, which helps against air spam and Electro Dragon-style attacks. Air troops can take percentage from the edges, but they still have to cross several dangerous pockets to reach the core. With central air-targeting support and separated high-damage defenses, the attacker is less likely to remove the entire backbone of the base with one freeze-heavy push.

This also helps against siege-machine entries. A Flame Flinger or Battle Drill can get value from an edge, but the remaining defenses are not all lined up behind that one side. The attacker still needs a second phase that can handle the core.

Best Use and Copy Notes

Use this as a TH17 war, CWL, or hybrid base when your main goal is to protect the Town Hall and force more planned attacks. It is a solid choice for players who see a lot of spam hits and safe 2-star attempts. If you use the copy layout option, review trap positions after a few defenses and adjust them toward the entry sides your opponents favor most.
