Strategy Explanation

This TH17 layout is clearly built for war-style defense, with the Town Hall core protected behind layered walls and a diamond-shaped structure that makes direct pathing awkward. The base does not give attackers a simple straight-line push from one side to the other. Instead, the left and right flanks use wide compartments, offset defenses, and open-looking channels to pull troops away from the center if the funnel is not built properly.

The main idea is to make the attacker spend a lot of effort reaching the core while taking fire from multiple angles. Key defenses are placed close enough to support the middle, but not so tightly packed that Electro Dragons get free chain value across the entire base. It is a good choice for players who want a TH17 copy layout that can handle common spam attacks while still forcing planned hits to be accurate.

Strengths

  • Strong central protection: The core is layered with walls and high-value defenses, making it difficult to remove quickly with a simple blimp or straight push.
  • Good anti-air spacing: Air-targeting defenses and traps are spread across the layout, reducing clean Electro Dragon chain paths.
  • Awkward side pathing: The long left and right compartments can drag troops around the base instead of letting everything collapse into the middle.
  • War-friendly structure: The layout focuses more on denying the triple than protecting loot, which fits CWL and regular war use well.

Core Value Protection

The middle of the base is the most important feature here. The Town Hall area is not sitting on the edge or exposed to a cheap hero pickup. Attackers need to commit real army space to reach it, and once they do, they still have to deal with overlapping damage from the nearby core defenses. This is useful against spam armies because troops often split when they meet the angled walls and side compartments.

The core also works well against players who rely too heavily on Battle Blimp value. Unless the blimp lands perfectly and survives the trap zone, it will not automatically decide the attack.

Anti Electro Dragon Spacing

The base has the right kind of spacing for an anti Electro Dragon setup. Buildings are not packed into one long chain from edge to core, and important air defenses are spread across the layout instead of stacked on one side. This forces E-Drags to spend more time moving between targets, which gives sweepers, air traps, and point defenses more time to work.

The side compartments are especially useful here because Electro Dragons can drift wide if the attacker does not create a tight funnel. When that happens, the core survives longer and the attack often runs out of time or damage.

Funneling Pressure on Both Flanks

The left and right sides look open at first, but they are actually uncomfortable to attack through. The walls create long lanes, while outside buildings and defenses pull troops sideways. This matters against Root Rider, Dragon, and Electro Dragon style armies because a weak funnel can leave the main army walking around the ring instead of breaking into the center.

For best results, keep defensive Clan Castle troops set for disruption rather than only raw damage. Anything that slows heroes or splits the main push can make this layout much harder to triple.

Best Use and Copy Layout Notes

Use this base mainly as a TH17 war base or CWL base when you want anti 3 star value with extra attention to air spam. If your clan is seeing a lot of Electro Dragon hits, this is a sensible copy layout option because the spacing and compartment shape directly punish lazy chain attacks.

After copying, check trap placement against your recent war logs. If opponents often enter from the same side, shift a few seeking air mines or ground traps toward that approach without changing the main wall structure.
