Strategy Explanation

This TH15 War Base is built around a compact central core with the Town Hall placed high in the middle and a second dense layer of defenses running vertically through the base. The most noticeable feature is the split layout on the left and right side. Those large side compartments create extra travel time and make it harder for attackers to keep troops moving cleanly through the core. Instead of giving a straight line from one side to the other, the base forces troops to either break multiple layers or drift around the side boxes.

The Town Hall sits behind outer layers rather than on an exposed edge, which is useful in war when you want to make the attacker earn the 2 star before even thinking about the 3. Below it, the central strip holds more high-value defense, including the heavy core pressure that punishes units stepping too far inside without proper support. The lower half is also stacked enough to punish overcommitted heroes and late troop pathing.

The two wide middle compartments on the left and right look designed to pull troops off line. They give strong point defense coverage while also creating spots where smash attacks can split. Air attacks also need to respect the layered entry, because taking the Town Hall and then continuing through the base is not as simple as crossing one central box.

If this defensive structure fits your current war setup, you can use the copy-layout option to place it directly into Clash of Clans and test how opponents approach it.

Strengths

This layout does a good job of making the attacker work for core access instead of giving easy value from one side.

  • Protected Town Hall: The Town Hall is central enough that simple edge blimps or short hero dives are less comfortable.
  • Split side compartments: The large left and right boxes can drag troops away from the middle and break ideal pathing.
  • Layered core: Important defenses are not all exposed in one ring, so troops continue taking damage after entering.
  • Balanced spread: Defensive coverage is distributed across the whole shape, which helps against attackers trying to overload one section.
  • Anti 3 star shape: The overall diamond-style structure and internal separation make full clears less straightforward than standard ring or box bases.

Core Pressure and Town Hall Access

The biggest defensive idea here is not just protecting the Town Hall, but making the follow-up awkward after it goes down. That matters in war because many attacks can secure 2 stars, but the third star depends on keeping troops together through the middle. Here, the central line below the Town Hall adds pressure on anything that enters late or without tanking.

Ground armies that push from the bottom toward the Town Hall may look tempting, but the path narrows into concentrated defenses. If the funnel is even slightly off, troops can peel into the side compartments and leave the center under-defended from the attacker's side.

Ground Attack Pathing

This base is stronger against ground attacks that rely on smooth lane control. The side compartments are wide enough to influence troop movement, especially for Yeti Smash, Bowler Smash, or Root Rider styles that want a predictable route. If the attacker does not cut both flanks properly, units can split into left and right sections instead of driving straight through the core.

Hero support also becomes awkward here. The King can get held on an outside edge, while the Queen may step into a side box and spend too much time there. That delay matters because the center is where the main defensive weight sits.

Air Attack Considerations

For air, this is not a free chain base. The compartments create some spacing and reduce the easy sweep effect that Electro Dragons look for. There are still enough close buildings near the core that an attacker can find value if the funnel is clean, but the overall shape does not hand out simple line travel through the entire base.

Lalo players may prefer to remove a side compartment first and then send balloons across the core, but that requires strong hero value early. If the heroes fail to open the right section, the balloons can lose pace around the split structure.

Best War Use

This layout makes the most sense as a TH15 War Base where you expect planned hits instead of random farming attacks. Its value comes from forcing commitment: attackers need a real entry plan for the Town Hall, a real funnel for the side boxes, and enough spell control to survive the central damage. That combination is what gives it anti 3 star value.

It is especially useful if you want a war base that does not rely on a cheap edge Town Hall trick. Instead, it asks the attacker to break layers, stay on path, and still finish both large side sections after the core fight is over.
