TH14 War Base with Split Core Anti 3 Star Design

Strategy Explanation
This TH14 War Base uses a diamond-style shell with a split defensive core and an offset Town Hall placed slightly above center. The main idea is to deny clean value from one entry and force attackers to commit in stages. Instead of stacking everything around the Town Hall, the layout spreads key defenses across multiple layers, so a push that reaches one section still has to survive into the next.
The Town Hall is protected inside its own compartment, but it is not sitting dead center. That matters against war attacks because it can pull a charge or smash army off line while the rest of the base keeps firing from both sides. The Eagle Artillery sits deeper on the lower side, separated from the Town Hall, while the Scattershots and Infernos are distributed to cover different lanes through the core. That split value is one of the better parts of the design. A hero dive or Queen Charge can reach something important, but getting Town Hall, Eagle, and multiple major defenses in one clean phase looks much harder.
The outer ring also creates awkward pathing. The side compartments are broad enough to tempt funneling troops wide, especially on the left and right flanks, while the inner channels look narrow and likely slow for ground troops. Air attacks have to deal with a fairly even defensive spread rather than a heavy stack on one side. Overall, this looks like a base built to break rhythm: first phase for funnel, second for Town Hall or core access, and then a messy finish with remaining defenses still active.
Strengths
This layout has several good traits for war defense, especially against attackers trying to script a clean route through the middle.
- Offset Town Hall placement makes full core value harder to collect in one push.
- Eagle Artillery is separated from the Town Hall, so attackers usually need a second commitment phase.
- Layered compartments can stall root pathing and slow heroes moving into the center.
- Wide defensive coverage from both side sections helps punish troops that drift around the ring.
- Major defenses are not tightly stacked, which reduces easy spell value and limits one-shot planning.
Town Hall and Core Pressure
The Town Hall being slightly offset is the first thing most war attackers will notice. It does not give away the entire base if they commit to it, and that is exactly what you want from an anti 3 star setup. The core around it is layered with point defenses and narrow channels that can keep a Queen or heavy ground troops under pressure while they move inward.
What makes the core stronger is the way nearby high-value targets are split rather than stacked. Even after the Town Hall goes down, the attacker still has to deal with more damage zones deeper in or across the opposite side of the base. That creates a common war problem: getting the objective but losing shape for the final cleanup.
Ground Attack Pathing
Against ground armies, this base looks built to create side drift before troops fully commit to the middle. The left and right compartments are large enough to absorb troops, and the interior walls can break direct movement into shorter steps. Root Riders or smash armies may still enter well, but they are less likely to get a straight line through Town Hall into Eagle and finish cleanly.
That is especially useful in war, where many TH14 triples come from simple value chains. Here, attackers need a better funnel than usual. If they miss even one side building layer, the main push can wrap and lose access to the best targets.
Air Attack Considerations
This layout does a decent job of avoiding a single obvious air lane. The Air Defenses are spread across the base, and the heavier defenses are not all clustered behind the Town Hall. That means dragons or balloons can start well, but they still have to pass through multiple sections with meaningful fire coming from different angles.
Electro Dragon players may not love the compartment spacing in the core. There are still some outer buildings that can offer chain value, but the central structure is broken up enough to limit those long, high-value chains that decide a hit early.
Best Use in War
This is the kind of TH14 base that makes sense when you want to force a real plan instead of giving away easy objective value. It fits regular war and CWL use because it pressures both ground and air players to commit more precisely than usual. If the defensive structure suits your current setup, you can use the copy-layout option to place it directly in Clash of Clans and test how your clanmates attack into it.
It is especially useful if you want an anti 3 star war base that does not rely on one overloaded compartment. The defense is spread well enough that even a good entry should leave something important standing for the back half of the attack.
