Focused TH10 Troll / Funny Coc Layout | Sword

Strategy Explanation
This TH10 war troll base is built as a giant sword pointing north. The only walled area is the sword itself: a long, narrow blade made of stacked mini-compartments, a cross-guard at the middle, and a hilt facing south. The Town Hall sits inside the hilt/guard section, with four Elixir Storages placed like purple gems right above it to soak damage and stall heroes. Most defenses and buildings are pushed far outside the walls in two big clusters on the left and right, leaving the middle “blade” as a tight kill path.
The idea is simple: tempt attackers to drop from the bottom into the hilt or to clean one side cluster first. Ground troops that enter the handle are forced to chew through compartment after compartment while storages body-block and heroes backtrack. Players who start on a flank usually spend so much time clearing the open-side defenses that they reach the Town Hall late or not at all. It’s a classic time-fail and pathing trap with a funny shape that still punishes sloppy plans.
Strengths
- Pathing tax: The blade’s chain of tiny chambers forces multiple Wall Breaker or Jump commitments. Misplaced spells equal dead pushes.
- Time pressure: Huge left/right building piles eat minutes. By the time troops rotate toward the hilt, spells and heroes are spent.
- Storage shield on the core: The four Elixir Storages around the cross-guard slow Queen charges and keep the Town Hall alive longer.
- Bait value: The bottom entry “looks free,” inviting all-in drops straight into traps and tight corners.
- Funny factor in war: Opponents often underestimate it, overcommit to cleanup, and walk away with a frustrating 0–1 star.
Recommended Trap Placements
- Line the handle and first blade joints with Spring Traps and small bombs to punish Giants/Hogs and Wall Breakers.
- Hide a Tesla farm either in the hilt or just above the cross-guard to surprise the Queen under storages.
- Place Giant Bombs at the base of each turn where troops clump; Seeking Air Mines slightly above the storages to catch Healers/Loons.
Defending Clan Castle
For war, use a mix that stalls inside the hilt: Ice Golem + Witch + Archers, or Double Witches. They hold troops in place while storages and Teslas chip away.
Usage Tips
- Set X-Bows to ground/air for flexibility and place them in the denser side clusters to punish flank starts.
- Scout enemy Siege access; if they favor Wall Wrecker, stack springs and skeleton traps along the bottom lane.
- Rotate air traps between wars to keep the troll factor fresh.
