Strategy Explanation
This TH17 layout uses a diamond-style core with the Town Hall protected inside a tight ring, forcing attackers to spend real army value before they can secure the main objective. The base is not trying to hide everything in one area; instead, it spreads key defenses around the middle so spam attacks have to move through multiple damage zones. That makes it useful as an Anti 2 Star and Anti 3 Star option, especially in Legend League where players often rely on fast funneling and heavy air pushes.
The outside buildings create uneven entry points, so a clean Electro Dragon line is harder to build. The air defenses and high-damage towers are placed far enough apart that chain value is limited, while the inner defenses keep firing once the first layer falls. If the attacker sends heroes early for the Town Hall, they still have to deal with surrounding point damage and traps before the backend opens up.
Strengths
- Strong Town Hall protection: The Town Hall sits in the middle ring, making quick blimp or hero snipes less reliable without proper spell support.
- Good Anti Electro Dragon spacing: Storages, defenses, and gaps reduce easy chain damage across the base.
- Legend League friendly: The layout spreads value across the map, which helps avoid giving away a simple high-percent path.
- Harder funnel control: The angled shape and outside trash buildings can pull troops sideways instead of straight into the core.
- Anti 3 Star pressure: Key defenses remain active after the first push, making the backend harder than it looks.
Town Hall Ring and Star Control
The main reason this TH17 coc base layout works as an Anti 2 Star design is the way the Town Hall is surrounded by layered defenses instead of sitting near an easy edge entry. Attackers must either commit a blimp, force heroes inward, or send a major part of the army into the middle. None of those choices are free. If the entry fails or the Warden ability is late, the attack can stall around the ring and leave the Town Hall standing longer than expected.
Air Pathing Against Electro Dragons
Electro Dragon attacks want straight lines, easy chains, and grouped defenses. This layout makes that uncomfortable. The air coverage is split across multiple sides, with bulky buildings helping soak shots and break chain value. Sweepers and air-targeting defenses around the middle can also slow the main pack enough for traps and core damage to stack up. It is not immune to E-Drags, but it does punish lazy drops from one corner.
Legend League Defense Notes
For Legend League, this base is best used when you want a layout that defends percent as much as stars. The outside ring gives attackers buildings to clear, but the path into the stronger defenses is not clean. Many hits will still get decent destruction, but the goal is to make the second star expensive and the triple unreliable.
Copy Layout Tips
If you use the copy layout option, keep the defensive shape intact and avoid moving the Town Hall or key air defenses for cosmetics. Small decoration changes are fine, but shifting traps or storages can open better Electro Dragon chains. After copying, check your Clan Castle, spell towers, and air traps so they match your current defensive plan before taking it into Legend League or CWL testing.
