Strategy Explanation

This TH17 war base uses a diamond-shaped core with layered compartments around the Town Hall area, making it harder for attackers to get a simple straight-line push through the middle. The layout is not trying to hide everything in one compact box. Instead, it spreads key defenses across several rings so spam armies, hero dives, and siege entries have to keep changing direction.

The outer buildings create a wide funneling problem. If the attacker starts too shallow, troops can walk around the outside. If they commit hard into one side, they still have to break through multiple wall layers before reaching the highest-value defenses. That makes this layout a good fit for war and Legend League where forcing a messy mid-attack is often enough to stop the triple.

Strengths

  • Diamond core pathing: The central shape makes direct entries less clean and can pull troops sideways instead of straight into the Town Hall section.
  • Layered compartments: There are several defensive pockets, so attackers need proper spell timing rather than one simple Rage push.
  • Good anti 3 star structure: Important defenses are not all stacked in one small area, reducing the value of one freeze chain, blimp, or hero ability.
  • Useful for Legend League: The spread-out damage and awkward routing can punish rushed attacks, especially from players trying to spam through a corner.

Diamond Core and Compartment Control

The strongest part of this layout is the way the core is boxed inside angled wall layers. Troops entering from the edge do not get a clean route to every major defense. They are often forced into one compartment, then need another jump, wall break, or spell investment to keep moving.

This is especially useful against smash-style attacks. If the attacker drops everything into one side without setting the funnel, part of the army can peel into the outside buildings while the main group gets slowed inside the compartments. That split is where the base starts gaining defensive value.

Anti-Funnel Outer Ring

The outside of the base is busy and uneven, which is helpful for war defense. There are enough buildings around the edge to tempt heroes and support troops away from the intended entry point. Attackers need to spend time clearing both sides before launching the main push, and that extra setup can hurt the clock.

For Legend League, this kind of edge control matters a lot. Many attacks are fast and repetitive, so a base that makes the first funnel awkward can turn a strong army into a low-time, messy finish.

Air and Hero Dive Pressure

The defensive spread gives this TH17 layout decent resistance into air spam because attackers cannot remove every important threat with one short entry. A blimp or hero dive may grab part of the core, but the remaining compartments still force pathing decisions for Dragons, Electro Dragons, or other air troops.

Ground hero dives also need commitment. The walls around the central compartments make it harder for heroes to freely walk from one high-value target to the next, so attackers usually need spells, siege support, or precise wall breakers to get full value.

Best Use and Copy Layout Notes

This base is best used as a TH17 war, CWL, or Legend League anti 3 star layout. It is a good choice if you want something that does not rely on one trap gimmick, but instead uses shape, spacing, and pathing to make attacks less comfortable.

If you use the copy layout option, check your trap placement and defensive levels after importing. Small trap adjustments around the most common entry side can make the base feel fresher, especially if your clanmates or Legend opponents see similar TH17 armies often.
