Strategy Explanation

This TH17 war base uses a diamond-style shape with the Town Hall placed high in the base rather than sitting in the exact middle. That is a good anti 2 star approach because the attacker has to commit real force toward the north side, while the lower half still holds enough defense to punish a weak follow-through. The core is layered with multiple compartments, so spam armies do not get one clean line through the Town Hall, Clan Castle area, and back-end defenses.

Against Electro Dragons, the layout tries to make chaining less comfortable by breaking the base into separate pockets instead of giving one long row of connected value. The important air-targeting defenses are spread through the middle and side sections, which means an E-Drag push can still take damage even after clearing one edge. The copy layout option fits this one well for war players who want a base that is easy to drop into a roster and test against common air spam.

Strengths

  • Strong anti 2 star pressure: the Town Hall is protected in the upper core, forcing attackers to plan their entry instead of picking it off cheaply.
  • Layered center: the middle compartments slow down heroes, Root Riders, and air pushes that depend on moving straight through the base.
  • Good anti-air spread: key air defenses are not stacked in one obvious section, which helps against Electro Dragon and air-blimp style attacks.
  • Awkward funneling: the wide lower side and angled outer buildings can pull troops away if the attacker does not build a clean path.

Town Hall Access and Anti 2 Star Setup

The Town Hall compartment is not exposed on the edge, but it is also not buried so deep that the rest of the base becomes irrelevant. That balance matters for anti 2 star defense. Attackers who start at the top still have to fight through surrounding defenses, while attackers who start from the bottom risk spending too much time before reaching the Town Hall.

The central defensive ring below the Town Hall helps prevent easy pathing. If an army enters from the south, it can get dragged into the middle compartments and lose momentum before the Town Hall goes down. This is especially useful in war, where a failed Town Hall takedown can turn a safe two-star plan into a messy one-star.

Anti Electro Dragon Pathing

The base has several separated compartments and offset defensive pockets, which is important against Electro Dragons. E-Drags want connected buildings and predictable chains. Here, the angled shape and spacing around the middle make it harder to get full chain value from one side of the base to the other.

Air sweepers and central air damage should be watched after every defense replay. If attackers keep forcing the same side successfully, rotate traps or adjust sweeper direction if your version allows it. The base already gives a solid structure, but small trap changes are what keep an anti E-Drag layout from becoming too readable.

Best Use in War and CWL

This layout is a practical pick for regular wars and CWL rounds where opponents lean on safe air spam or blimp-assisted two-star plans. It is not built like a pure ring base; instead, it uses a protected high Town Hall and compact defensive layers to make the attacker choose between securing the Town Hall early or trying to clear the stronger lower core first.

If you copy this TH17 base, test it with your current trap levels and defensive upgrades before relying on it in a key war. It should perform best against rushed planning, lazy Electro Dragon lines, and attacks that do not create a proper funnel before entering the core.
