Strategy Explanation

This TH17 war base uses an offset Town Hall with a tight boxed core and a stretched diamond-style footprint. The Town Hall is not sitting in a simple central pocket, which makes the attacker commit early if they want a safe star. At the same time, the heavier defensive value is packed through the middle and upper-right side, so a direct push into the Town Hall does not automatically give clean access to the rest of the base.

The wall layout is the main reason this base fits the anti 2 star and anti 3 star tags. Troops are encouraged to bend around compartments instead of walking straight through the center. If the attacker starts from the Town Hall side, they still have to deal with separated compartments behind it. If they start from the stronger core side, the Town Hall remains awkward to reach late.

Strengths

  • Offset Town Hall pressure: attackers cannot casually grab the Town Hall while taking the full core at the same time.
  • Layered compartments: the middle is broken into multiple boxes, which slows Root Rider, hero dive, and smash-style pathing.
  • Good split value: key defenses are not all sitting in one easy blimp or freeze area.
  • Awkward funneling: the outside buildings and angled walls make it harder to form a clean lane from the corners.
  • War-friendly shape: it asks the attacker to plan carefully instead of relying on a straight spam line.

Offset Town Hall Pressure

The Town Hall sits low and slightly left of the main core, protected by walls and nearby defenses rather than being fully exposed. That placement is useful in war because it creates a real decision: secure the Town Hall first and risk losing momentum, or attack through the heavier side and hope the Town Hall can be reached later.

This is especially helpful against safer two-star plans. A blimp or hero dive can get value, but it is not a free route through the entire base. The attacker still has to deal with the remaining compartments after the first entry is spent.

Core Pathing and Compartment Shape

The center of the layout is not one big open box. It uses a compact diamond core with several small compartments branching into the upper and right side of the base. That matters because TH17 armies need clean movement. When troops pause, split, or retarget around walls, the base gains extra defensive time.

The right side carries a lot of defensive weight, while the lower and left sections help pull pathing away from a perfect straight-line push. This makes spam attacks less comfortable, especially if the funnel is even slightly late or uneven.

Best Use for War and CWL

This layout is best used as a TH17 war or CWL base when you want to make the attacker work for both the Town Hall and the triple path. It is not meant to be a lazy ring base; it rewards good trap placement and occasional small edits after watching defenses.

If your site has the copy layout option available, this is a good base to copy when you need a practical anti 2 star war setup with enough compartment depth to also punish rushed anti 3 star attempts. After copying, consider adjusting traps around the most common blimp or hero-charge entry your clan has been seeing.
