Strategy Explanation

This TH17 War Base uses a wide diamond-style shell with multiple interior compartments and a protected central Town Hall. The main idea is to break up clean pathing and force attackers to commit extra troops or spells before they can stabilize through the middle. The Town Hall sits in the core with strong defensive support nearby, while the heavier damage is spread around it rather than stacked into one easy spell target.

The layout does a good job of making the approach feel uneven from several sides. There is no simple straight line into the core, and the ring of compartments around the Town Hall means troops can drift, split, or stall if the funnel is not precise. The lower half especially looks loaded with high-value defenses and compact point damage, which can punish ground pushes that enter too deep without clearing the sides first.

From a war perspective, this looks built to stop clean triples rather than just protect one resource area. It tries to make the attacker earn every layer: outer pickoff, first wall break, second compartment, and then the core. If the defensive structure fits what you want for Clan War or CWL, the copy-layout option makes it easy to test it in your own Clash of Clans setup.

Strengths

The biggest strength here is how the base spreads out important defenses while still keeping the Town Hall protected. Attackers are not given one obvious section where they can claim all the value at once.

  • Central Town Hall with defensive coverage from multiple angles
  • Split compartments that can cause troop separation and bad pathing
  • Good spread on major defenses, reducing easy spell value
  • Lower core area looks dense enough to punish late-stage ground troops
  • Wide shape makes full funnel control more demanding

Core Protection

The core is the main reason this base fits the Anti 3 Star role. The Town Hall is not placed off to one side where it can be isolated early. Instead, it sits behind layers of compartments and is surrounded by dangerous zones on the approach. That means even if an attacker secures one flank, they still need enough force to survive the center and continue through the remaining defenses.

The key detail is that the strongest support is not completely stacked on top of the Town Hall. That matters because high-level attackers often look for one spell-heavy push that deletes the center and half the base at the same time. Here, the damage sources are distributed enough to make that less reliable.

Ground Attack Pathing

Ground armies should have a harder time keeping a tight line through this layout. The compartments branch outward from the center, and the lower half looks especially likely to pull troops off course. Root Rider and smash-style attacks usually want simple progression through connected layers, but this design can create sideways movement once the first compartment drops.

That is important in war because even a strong push can lose momentum if support troops split around the Town Hall compartment instead of staying together. Heroes may also end up walking the edge if the funnel is not established properly before the main entry.

Air Attack Considerations

Against air, the base has decent separation between key targets. There is no obvious single side where an attacker gets immediate Town Hall access plus multiple major defenses in the same sweep. The broad footprint also forces air troops to cover distance, which can stretch coco loons, heroes, and spell timing.

Electro Dragon players may still see chain potential in some tighter sections near the inner compartments, but the overall compartmentalization helps reduce simple full-base value. This is not a layout that gives away a clean air route for free.

Hero and Charge Entry Options

The most likely planned entries come from edges where the attacker can reach a side compartment without instantly committing into the dead center. A Queen Charge from an upper lane could try to claim one defensive block and shape the rest of the attack, while a King and Siege Barracks style funnel could be used to hold one side in place.

That said, this base still asks a lot from charge management. If the Queen steps wide instead of inward, or if support troops fail to open the next layer quickly, the entire plan can lose value before the Town Hall is even engaged.

Best Use in War

This TH17 War Base makes the most sense when you want to challenge disciplined attackers rather than just bait weaker spam. It is strong for regular war and workable for CWL because it demands good funneling, controlled spell use, and a clear plan for the center. Attackers can still break it with the right setup, but it does not hand out an easy route to the triple.
