Strategy Explanation
This TH8 war layout uses a rotated diamond core with two ring compartments. The Town Hall and Clan Castle sit tightly in the center, wrapped by a second diamond that holds key splash and tanky storages. Three Air Defenses are spaced in a triangle inside the inner ring, while Wizard Towers and Mortars are staggered just behind the outer defenses. Archer Towers and Cannons ring the edges for clean 360° coverage. There’s noticeable spacing between the main walls and many outside buildings, creating pathing friction and slowing down funnels.
It’s built for anti-air especially anti-Dragon, while still handling common TH8 ground hits. Storages are split around the core so attackers must chew through high HP to reach the Town Hall. The centralized Clan Castle is hard to lure without committing Wall Breakers or a deep snipe, which helps your defending troops punish shaky entries.
Strengths
- Anti-Dragon core: Triangular Air Defense spread and central placement force Dragons into sustained AD fire. Wizard Towers back them up to clean up grouped Loons.
- Hard CC lure: Clan Castle is deep; casual drags or Giants won’t trigger it from outside.

How It Defends Dragons
Dragons entering from any one side drift along the outer ring buildings. While they path, two Air Defenses usually stay alive and crossfire the pack. Wizard Towers and Archer Towers on the flanks chip constantly, and the inner storages soak shots so the core AD survives longer. Keep the Air Sweeper centralized and angled across the longest approach to prolong the pathing around the diamond.
War CC and Trap Suggestions
- Clan Castle: Dragon + 2 Wizards + Archer fillers, or 1 Valk + 3 Wizards + Archers for ground-heavy clans.
- Air Traps: Place Seeking Air Mines near two different ADs; Air Bombs slightly off the expected Dragon entry.
- Ground Traps: Springs in the narrow gaps between outer point defenses; Giant Bombs where Hog pathing turns between compartments.
Attacking Tips Against This Base
- Dragons: Zap-Quake one AD and enter opposite the Sweeper. Create a wide funnel with two Dragons before committing the rest and Balloons on point defenses.
- Hogs: Early lure the CC if possible; send small Hog teams to trip springs, then main wave with double Heals through Wizard Tower lanes.
- GoWiPe: Break the ring at a diamond junction; Rage early to push through two compartments and collapse the core.
Small Tweaks for Hybrid Play
- Swap a Wizard Tower with a Mortar if your wars face more Hog riders than Dragons.
- Rotate outer Archer/Cannon placements seasonally to refresh trap paths and avoid attacker muscle memory.
