Strategy Explanation

This TH8 war layout is built as an anti-3 star, with a compact diamond core and staggered rings that slow down both air and ground pushes. The Town Hall and Clan Castle sit deep inside layered walls, while the three Air Defenses form a tight triangle around the core. The Air Sweeper is tucked near the center so it keeps pushing drags through the longest lanes. Archer Towers ring the outside, and Wizard Towers and storages on the lower side add splash and HP to mess with pathing.

The base aims to deny a clean dragon sweep. Dragons entering from one edge will keep drifting toward high-HP storages and the King on the bottom-left, pulling them off the core while the inner Air Defenses and centralized Air Sweeper grind them down. A lone Builder Hut sits at the very top edge to tax time on shaky attacks. For ground, the multiple small compartments break Hog paths and make it hard to keep heals over everything at once.

Strengths

  • Deep AD triangle: All three Air Defenses are layered inside, forcing zaps or a long fly to reach them. Dragons that try to dive the core get split by storages and turns.
  • Centralized CC: Hard to lure without committing troops. A defending Dragon + Balloon punishes sloppy funnels.
  • Pathing disruption: Bottom-side storages and the outside Barbarian King distract dragons and delay entry into the core.
  • Anti-cleanup touches: Top-edge Builder Hut and spread outer buildings increase time pressure, a big deal in TH8 wars.

Trap and Tweak Ideas

  • Place Seeking Air Mines along expected dragon lanes into the core; stack one near the Air Sweeper’s push line.
  • Red Air Bombs just outside the AD ring to punish clumped drags under Rage.
  • Springs in narrow ground entries between outer cannons/ATs to pop Hog splits.
  • If opponents favor zaps, rotate one Air Defense a compartment deeper and swap a storage outward to bait incorrect Lightning.

War Usage Tips

  • Set the Archer Queen is unavailable at TH8, so keep the Barbarian King outside on the lower-left as a dragon magnet and cleanup killer.
  • Scout for likely Zap angles; adjust the Sweeper to cover the longest side your enemies typically hit from.
  • Don’t forget the top Builder Hut—many wins here are 2-star, 90–98% time fails.
