TH18 War Base with Offset Core and Anti Air Pathing

Strategy Explanation
This TH18 layout is built around an offset core rather than a fully centered Town Hall. The Town Hall sits slightly left of center, with key heavy defenses packed into the middle lanes around it. That creates an awkward decision for attackers: commit early into the Town Hall side and walk through concentrated core damage, or start wider and risk leaving the Town Hall for later under pressure.
The compartment structure is busy and segmented, with multiple short walls and small junctions instead of a simple ring. That matters against both ground and air. Ground armies do not get an obvious straight line through the middle, while air attacks have to fly over staggered defensive coverage instead of sweeping one clean side. The top-right area is especially dense with buildings and storage hitpoint, which can slow pushes and hold troops under fire longer than expected.
For anti-air value, the layout avoids giving Electro Dragons an easy full-base chain line. Buildings are not stacked in one neat strip from edge to edge, and the heavier defenses are spread so an early Freeze or Rage does not automatically cover everything important. A blimp from one side also has to cross meaningful damage before reaching the center unless the attacker creates a very clean funnel first.
The outer layer includes enough point defenses and trash buildings to make hero funneling work harder. On this kind of setup, sloppy entries can cause dragons, Root Riders, or smash troops to drift around compartments instead of driving directly through the Town Hall compartment and then into the back-end defenses.
Strengths
The strongest feature here is the way the base mixes an offset Town Hall with a crowded central defense cluster. It is not a pure box base and not a simple anti-2 shell, so attackers have to read pathing carefully before committing.
- Offset Town Hall pressure: the Town Hall is reachable, but not in a way that naturally opens the whole base afterward.
- Layered compartments: short segments force extra wall breaks or awkward troop redirection.
- Good anti-air spacing: the air defenses and major threats are spread enough to reduce easy Electro Dragon chains.
- Dense top-right section: this side can stall air troops and heroes because of building weight and compartment overlap.
- Split damage profile: core and side defenses combine well, so attackers often take fire from more than one angle at once.
Air Attack Considerations
This is clearly a better anti-air shape than a wide open diamond or straight-line box. Electro Dragons do not get ideal chain spacing across the whole village, and there is no single entry that cleanly points them through every major target. That said, air attackers will still look for a safe blimp lane or a side where heroes can cut enough trash to lock dragons into the core.
Balloon-heavy air attacks may prefer sending troops across the Town Hall side only after creating value elsewhere first. If the Town Hall activates while support troops are thinning, the push can lose momentum quickly in the middle.
Ground Pathing and Hero Pressure
For ground armies, the layout tries to break rhythm. Short compartments and offset value mean troops can split if the funnel is not exact. Root Riders and smash styles would likely want one hero on a flank and a main entry that opens multiple layers quickly. If they only open one box at a time, the central defenses have more time to work.
The left edge is one of the more natural places to test with a Queen Charge because it gives a route toward the Town Hall side. The challenge is keeping the Queen moving inward instead of drifting around the outer layer.
Why It Fits War and Legend League
This design makes sense for war and everyday high-level defense because it asks attackers to commit to a real plan. It does not hand out easy funnel lines, and it does not expose the Town Hall in a casual way. In war, that can punish rushed planning. In Legend League, it can force less comfortable air pathing and make quick spam attacks feel unreliable.
If you want to test how your own army handles offset-core TH18 designs, this is a solid one to save with the copy option and practice against before using it.
Best Use Case
This layout is most convincing as a War Base with anti-3 pressure and useful anti-air traits. It is not built around protecting resources first. Instead, the value comes from awkward access, layered central damage, and enough spacing to make simple Electro Dragon plans less comfortable than they look at first glance.
