TH18 War Base with Offset Town Hall and Split Core

TH18 War Base with Offset Town Hall and Split Core
An offset Town Hall and broken central lanes make this TH18 useful against clean triples, especially when attackers try to force direct ground pathing through the middle.

Strategy Explanation

This TH18 layout uses an offset Town Hall on the right side rather than placing everything into a single obvious core. That immediately creates a decision problem for attackers: commit early pressure toward the Town Hall side, or start elsewhere and risk awkward pathing into the middle. The center is busy with multiple compartments, key defenses, and tight turns, so the base is clearly trying to break up straight-line movement and make troop control less reliable.

The overall shape is slightly diamond-like, but the internal structure is more important than the outer shell. Compartments are layered across the middle, and the highest-value defenses are not stacked into one easy spell target. You can see strong defensive coverage spread from left to right, with the Town Hall protected behind more than one layer and supported by nearby point defenses and heavy damage. That setup suits War and Legend League use because it asks for precise funneling rather than a simple one-side sweep.

Ground armies are likely to feel the biggest friction when they enter from the bottom or lower-left side. There are many small walls and defense pockets that can drag troops sideways before they ever lock onto the Town Hall compartment. Air attacks also do not get a simple direct line because major defenses are spread through different sections instead of sitting in one chain-friendly block. Electro Dragon players in particular do not get a clean rectangle of packed buildings through the core, so maintaining strong chains all the way across looks less comfortable than on more compact ring styles.

Strengths

The best part of this design is how it mixes an offset Town Hall with a compartment-heavy center. It does not rely only on one anti-2 mechanism; instead it tries to make the full attack route messy, which is exactly what you want from an anti 3 star setup.

  • Offset Town Hall pressure: the Town Hall is protected on the right side and not freely exposed for a low-commitment pickup.
  • Layered central compartments: the middle looks difficult to cross cleanly with Root Riders, heroes, or smash attacks unless the funnel is very controlled.
  • Good defensive spread: major defenses are separated enough that attackers should not get huge value from a single push or simple spell stack.
  • Outer structure can pull troops: collectors, storages, and side buildings create the kind of edge pathing that can drag part of an army away from the intended line.
  • Useful for both war and daily defense: it has enough anti-pathing detail to stay relevant in Legend League where many attacks depend on predictable movement.

Ground Attack Pathing

Against ground armies, this layout is strongest when the attacker loses control of lateral movement. Troops entering from the bottom half can easily split across several compartments rather than driving straight into the middle. That is especially useful against Root Rider and smash styles that want a broad but still controlled front. If only part of the army turns toward the Town Hall, the rest can drift around the central blocks and leave key defenses active longer than expected.

This also means siege timing matters a lot for the attacker. If the wall-break phase or siege entry misses one critical layer, the push can stall outside the highest-value compartments while defenses continue firing from multiple angles.

Air Attack Considerations

The base does a decent job of avoiding one obvious flight corridor. Air defenses and heavier anti-air coverage are distributed across separate sections, and the Town Hall side does not look easy to snipe without flying through meaningful damage first. The shape should make pure air spam less comfortable because troops are asked to cross staggered compartments rather than one clean lane.

Electro Dragons are not completely shut out, but they do not get ideal building chains from every angle. The right side has spacing that can interrupt momentum, while the middle is compartmented enough to reduce the value of a simple sweep.

Hero and Charge Entry Options

The most natural planning question is whether to commit heroes toward the Town Hall side or use them to cut one flank first. A direct right-side entry can be attractive because of the Town Hall position, but it also risks forcing heroes into layered defenses without enough support. Entering from the opposite side may feel safer, yet that can leave the Town Hall for the main army later, which is dangerous if pathing gets messy.

For attackers, this is the kind of layout where one small funnel mistake changes the whole raid. For defenders, that is exactly the point. If you want to test it yourself, the copy option is worth using just to see how different entries behave in friendly challenges.

Why It Fits War and Legend League

This design fits War and Legend League because it pressures execution more than raw power. The Town Hall is important but not isolated, the center h
