Strategy Explanation

This TH5 war layout runs a compact diamond core with layered compartments and snaking corridors. The Town Hall sits protected in the inner ring, wrapped by walls and supported by the Clan Castle, a centrally tucked Air Defense, and nearby splash. The outer ring is split into small boxes so Giants never path straight in; they’re forced through choke points lined with spring traps and bombs. Archer Towers and Cannons sit on alternating sides to crossfire anything that survives the first push, while storages are split across opposite quadrants to slow troops and deny an easy 3-star.

The base doubles as a hybrid: loot is kept inside the ring alongside the TH for casual protection, but the real goal is war value. Centralized CC is hard to lure without committing Wall Breakers, and the AD’s coverage over the core punishes early Balloons or a hasty Clan Castle Balloon drop. The single Wizard Tower watches key junctions and storages, softening swarms so Mortars and Archers can finish them.

Strengths

  • Anti-Giant pathing: Narrow corridors and angled walls funnel Giants over springs. Breaking one wall rarely opens more than one compartment.
  • Central Air Defense: Balloons must fly through Archer Tower fire before reaching the AD, making sloppy air hits collapse fast.
  • Hard-to-lure CC: Positioned near the core so archers from the edge can’t pull it without a wall break or tank.
  • Split storages: Gold and Elixir are mirrored on different sides; attackers can’t snipe all resources or tank for a wizard push in one go.
  • Time pressure: Builder huts and small buildings are spaced outside, stretching cleanup and causing time fails on close defenses.
  • Splash overlap: Mortar and Wizard Tower arcs overlap the ring where troops usually clump after the first break-in.

Trap Placement Notes

  • Keep spring traps on the narrow junctions leading toward the core, not flush against walls where Giants stall.
  • Place small bombs slightly behind first-layer walls to catch Wall Breakers as Giants engage a defense.
  • If your war opponent favors air, swap one outer bomb to an air bomb near an Archer Tower entry lane.

War CC Recommendation

Best defensive fill: 1 Baby Dragon + Archers (rage aura if it stays alone) or 1 Balloon + Wizards/Archers. Either option forces the attacker to spend troops on a proper lure and kill squad.

How to Use It

  • Rotate the base so your AD is farthest from the enemy’s likely Giant entry side on the war map.
  • Spread outside trash buildings evenly to maximize time pressure but keep them inside AD coverage where possible.
  • Scout replays: if enemies break through the same side repeatedly, shift a spring trap one tile into their path and move a cannon to that quadrant.
