Strategy Explanation

This TH5 war base runs a compact diamond core with layered compartments to slow pushes and punish sloppy funnels. The Air Defense is dead-center, wrapped by four small boxes holding the storages. The Town Hall sits one layer south of the core, still protected but slightly offset to bait attackers into awkward entries. Mortars are split diagonally, giving overlapping splash through the middle lanes, while cannons and archer towers alternate around the outer ring. Trash buildings are pushed wide to create a time sink and disrupt Giant pathing.

The design aims to absorb the first wave, force Giants to ping-pong between compartments, and then let the central Air Defense and archer towers shred any Balloons that survive the opener. Two visible air bombs are tucked toward the 6 o’clock approach, with ground bombs shown around the 10–2 o’clock arc—great for punishing rushed healer or balloon drops and for clipping wall-breaker packs.

Because the storages are boxed, high-HP tanks stall in each pocket while splash and point damage stack up. It’s an anti-3-star approach at TH5: you might give up a star to a disciplined attack, but the pathing and time pressure make the full clear unreliable.

Strengths

  • True anti-air core: Central Air Defense with split archer towers means Balloons can’t snipe from one side and sweep. Air bombs cover common southern drops.
  • Layered compartments: Giants are dragged laterally; they rarely path straight to the Town Hall. Wall breakers often target the wrong junctions.
  • Storages as shields: Four storage pockets soak hits and protect the core long enough for splash to work.
  • Mortar coverage: Diagonal placement blankets the central lanes, deleting swarms of barb-arch.
  • Time drain: Wide-spread camps, mines, and huts make cleanup slow if the attacker commits everything to the push.

Placement Notes

  • Keep the Air Defense exactly centered. If you shift it one tile, seasoned players will line up a balloon path with minimal exposure.
  • Stagger wall-breaker traps (small bombs) one tile inside the first junctions at 9 and 1 o’clock to catch pairs.
  • Rotate one archer tower to the left flank if your war opponents favor ground; balance point DPS across both sides.

How to Defend Common Attacks

  • Giants + Healer: Giants stall on storages; archer towers and the centered AD force the Healer to hover over splash. Add a seeking air mine if available.
  • Mass Balloons: Split archer towers and central AD make a straight sweep unlikely. Place one air bomb near 3 o’clock to punish split drops.
  • Barch: Mortar crossfire and compartment gaps make early spam ineffective; they’ll run out of time if they don’t crack the core quickly.

Tweaks for Specific Wars

  • Facing air-heavy clans: tuck both air bombs opposite your expected entry and shift a cannon inward to protect the AD tile.
  • Facing ground-heavy clans: move a bomb onto the first left-side junction and swap a collector with a cannon to pull Giants deeper.

Overall, this is a high-performance TH5 war layout that reliably denies the third star by mixing airtight air defense with annoying pathing and solid time control.
