Strategy Explanation

This TH18 base layout is built around making the attacker work for every major objective instead of handing them a straight line through the village. The Town Hall sits on the high side of the base, protected by layered walls and nearby high-value defenses, while the middle is broken into long lanes that can pull troops away from the clean route attackers usually want.

The layout uses a stretched diamond shape with defensive value split across several sections. That matters in Legend League because most hits are time-limited spam attacks, root rider pushes, air-heavy plans, or hero dives looking to remove the Town Hall early. Here, the attacker has to choose between taking the Town Hall side first or pushing through the lower lanes and risking a late Town Hall finish.

The empty-looking wall channels through the middle are not wasted space. They help disturb troop pathing and can make siege machines, heroes and main-army groups separate. When that happens, splash defenses and hero damage get more time to work.

Strengths

  • Good anti 3 star shape: The base does not give a simple straight push from one edge to the other.
  • Strong Town Hall pressure: The Town Hall side is surrounded by enough defense to punish early blimps, hero entries and rushed dives.
  • Useful for Legend League: The wide spread forces attackers to spend more time clearing outside buildings and fixing pathing.
  • Awkward core lanes: The middle walls can split troops, especially when the attacker drops too wide or misses the funnel.
  • Balanced ground and air coverage: Air defenses, X-Bows, Infernos and splash defenses are spread so one spell set does not remove all key value.

Town Hall Side Pressure

The Town Hall is not sitting alone on an easy edge. It is placed on the upper section with surrounding defenses that can punish attackers who try to grab it cheaply. A Battle Blimp has to travel into a busy area, and if traps are placed near the approach, it can force an early Warden ability or stop the blimp before it reaches full value.

For ground attacks, the Town Hall side also creates an uncomfortable choice. If the attacker starts there, they may spend too much army on the first phase and run out of force later. If they ignore it, they risk finishing into the Town Hall poison and nearby defenses with weakened troops.

Middle Lane Pathing

The most noticeable part of this TH18 COC base layout is the long wall lanes running through the middle. These lanes are useful because they make troop movement less predictable. Root Riders, heroes and support troops can drift into different paths if the funnel is not tight, which lowers the damage output of the attack.

This style works especially well against players who rely on dropping everything in one broad line. Instead of rolling as one group, troops can stall on walls, walk around sections, or leave key defenses standing. That buys time for the Infernos, X-Bows, Scattershots and hero damage to stack up.

Anti Air and Blimp Control

The base has enough spread to make air attacks think twice about spell value. A LavaLoon or Electro Dragon attack wants clean chains and heavy value from Rage and Freeze spells. Here, important defenses are not all packed into one small area, so an attacker often needs multiple spell commitments to get through.

The Town Hall area is also a natural blimp target, so it is worth placing air traps along the most likely straight-line path from the nearest edge. Seeking Air Mines near the Town Hall approach and Red Air Bombs closer to common balloon paths can make a big difference in Legend League defenses.

Hero Dive Resistance

Hero dives are common at TH18 because they can remove the Town Hall, clear a Scattershot, or open a path for the main army. This layout makes that harder by separating value. A King and Queen entry can take one part of the base, but they will not easily collect everything unless the attacker invests spells and siege support.

The defending heroes also have good chances to pull attacking heroes into bad positions. If the Archer Queen or Royal Champion gets dragged sideways through the lanes, the main push may lose support and slow down before reaching the back-end defenses.

Best Use for Legend League

This layout fits players who want a daily defense base that can turn triples into high two-stars or messy time fails. It is not trying to hide everything; it is trying to make the attack inefficient. In Legend League, that is often enough to save trophies over a full defense day.

If you use the copy layout option, check your trap levels and defensive hero levels after placing it. Keep the core trap idea intact, but adjust a few Seeking Air Mines or Skeleton Traps based on what you see most often in your own league range. Small trap changes can keep the same base fresh without changing the whole layout.
