TH18 War COC Base Layout for Anti 3 Star Defense
Latest Reviews
Strategy Explanation
This TH18 War COC base layout uses an angled diamond-style build with a heavy core and staggered outside defenses to make attacks spend time before they reach the best value. The walls pull troops into awkward bends instead of giving a clean straight lane. That matters in war and Legend League because spam armies need predictable pathing to keep heroes, riders, and support troops moving together.
The core is not free value. Key defenses are spread across the inner ring, while the Town Hall side and hero zone force the attacker to choose between securing stars and pushing for full destruction. The outside buildings also make funneling slower, especially from the wide edges, so a rushed entry can split troops around the base.
Strengths
- Good anti 3 star structure: The main damage is not packed into one easy spell area, so one Rage, Freeze, or Overgrowth push does not solve the whole layout.
- Awkward troop movement: The angled wall lines and offset defense groups can pull ground armies away from the core if the funnel is weak.
- Useful for Legend League: The base covers multiple entry points and does not rely on one obvious trap lane, which helps against quick daily attacks.
- Strong time pressure: The spread outside buildings force attackers to clear more space before committing, making late cleanup less comfortable.
Angled Walling and Troop Pathing
The biggest strength of this layout is the way the walls break up natural movement. Instead of a simple box-to-box route, troops have to move around angled sections and small gaps in value. That can make Root Riders, heroes, and support troops separate if the attacker starts too wide. When a push splits, the core defenses get more time to fire and the back-end defenses stay alive longer.
Core Value Protection
The inner area keeps the high-value defenses guarded without giving away an easy packed target. This is important at TH18 because strong armies can delete one zone quickly if everything important sits together. Here, the attacker still has to deal with follow-up damage after the first ability or spell phase. It is a solid choice when you want a war base that asks for planning rather than allowing a straight spam hit.
Legend League and CWL Use
For Legend League, this base is useful because it makes fast attackers think about the entry. The outside ring has enough buildings to punish lazy funneling, while the defensive spread keeps pressure on both ground and air pushes. In CWL, it is better used as an anti 3 star base rather than a pure anti 2 star build, since the layout tries to protect overall percentage and stop the full clear.
Copy Layout Notes
If you use the copy layout option, check your traps after placing it. Keep the Tornado Trap and heavy bombs near the path where attackers are most likely to send their main army, then rotate them after a few defenses. Small trap changes can keep this TH18 War COC base layout fresh without changing the full structure.
