Strategy Explanation
This TH18 war base uses an offset Town Hall near the 12 o’clock side, but it is not sitting on the edge for a free pickup. The top section is boxed off with a clean diamond-style compartment, forcing attackers to commit real troops, spells, or a proper hero plan if they want the Town Hall early. That makes it useful as both an anti 2 star and anti 3 star layout, especially against players who rely on simple spam pathing.
The main defensive value sits through the middle and lower core. Key defenses are spread through connected compartments rather than stacked in one easy blimp target. The base also leaves several awkward open pockets and dead zones that can pull troops away from the cleanest line through the center. If an attacker enters from the Town Hall side, they still need enough force left to push through the core and back-end defenses.
Strengths
- Offset Town Hall pressure: The Town Hall is reachable, but not cheap. Attackers need to decide whether to secure it first or risk leaving it late.
- Strong central damage: The core holds the kind of defensive weight that can slow Root Riders, heroes, and air pushes once spells start running out.
- Awkward funneling: The diamond shape and split side compartments make it easy for troops to drift wide if the funnel is rushed.
- Good anti 3 star spacing: Major defenses are not all packed into one small kill zone, so a single Freeze chain or blimp drop should not solve the whole base.
Town Hall Compartment and 2-Star Control
The top Town Hall compartment is the main feature of this base. It gives attackers a tempting target, but the walls and nearby defenses make a light investment risky. A small hero dive can get stalled, while a full commitment from the top may leave the army thin before it reaches the central defenses. This is exactly what you want in war: force the attacker to spend more than they planned for the first star.
Core Value Protection
The middle of the layout is built to stay relevant after the Town Hall fight. Defensive buildings are layered across the center instead of being lined up in a simple straight path. That helps against smash attacks because the army has to keep breaking through compartments while taking fire from multiple angles. It also makes spell timing harder, since one Rage or Freeze window will not cover every key threat.
Anti-Funnel Side Compartments
The left and right sides are not just filler. They create side value that can pull troops off course, especially when the attacker does not trim buildings properly. This is useful against spam-style war hits where the attacker drops everything in a wide line and expects the army to naturally meet in the middle. On this base, poor funneling can leave the core half-alive while troops split into the side boxes.
Best Use for War and CWL
This is a good TH18 war base to copy if you want something that makes attackers think before dropping a standard army. It is especially suitable for CWL or regular wars where opponents often aim for safe 2-stars first, then try to convert into triples. Use the copy layout option, then adjust traps based on what your clan is seeing most, such as air spam, hero dives, or Root Rider-heavy attacks.
