Strategy Explanation

This TH18 layout is built around awkward pathing rather than a tight box. The Town Hall sits low on the left side, while the heaviest defensive value is spread across the top, right side, and lower core. That split makes it harder for an attacker to grab the Town Hall and still keep enough momentum for the back half of the base.

The most noticeable feature is the use of large empty compartments and thin wall channels. These deadzones break up troop movement and make simple spam entries less clean. Root Riders, Yetis, Electro Titans, and similar ground pushes can move through the first layer, but they are likely to drift or stall while key defenses fire from separated pockets. For Legend League, this is useful because many attacks are done quickly and rely on predictable funneling.

Strengths

  • Offset Town Hall pressure: Attackers can commit for the Town Hall early, but doing so does not automatically open the entire base.
  • Wide deadzones: The empty spaces make troop targeting less direct and can waste ability time from heroes or siege machines.
  • Split defensive groups: Strong defenses are not stacked in one easy-to-freeze core, so attackers need to manage spells across multiple areas.
  • Good war scouting value: The base does not show one obvious entry that gives every major objective at once.
  • Legend League friendly: It can punish rushed spam attacks that rely on a fast funnel and straight-line pathing.

Offset Town Hall and Entry Control

The Town Hall placement is one of the main reasons this layout fits war and Legend League. It is reachable, but not cheaply connected to every other major defense. If the attacker enters from the lower-left, they still have to travel through angled walls and separated compartments before reaching the higher-value sections on the top and right.

This setup is especially useful against players who treat the Town Hall as the only objective. They may secure the star, but the army can run out of strength before clearing enough percentage for a triple.

Deadzone Pathing and Funnel Problems

The big open areas in the middle are not wasted space. They create targeting gaps that can pull troops away from the ideal route. Instead of giving a clean chain of buildings, the base forces troops to retarget across walls and around corners. That matters a lot against spam attacks, where one bad turn can leave heroes separated from the main army.

The outer buildings are also placed in a way that makes funneling less automatic. An attacker needs to spend troops carefully on the edges, otherwise the main push can slide into the wrong compartment.

Defensive Value Split Across the Base

The base does not rely on one compact core. Key defenses are spread through multiple pockets, with strong groups toward the top side, right side, and lower-left area. This makes spell timing harder. A single Rage, Freeze cycle, or Warden ability cannot cover everything at once.

For war, this helps against first-hit triples because the attacker must plan the whole route, not just the opening. For Legend League, it gives the base a better chance of holding percentage when the attacker makes a small pathing mistake.

Best Use and Copy Layout Notes

Use this TH18 base if you want a practical anti-3 style layout for wars, CWL testing, or daily Legend League defense. It is a good choice when you want the Town Hall defended without placing everything directly behind it.

If you use the copy layout option, check your trap levels and make sure the Clan Castle and key defensive buildings match your upgrade progress. Small trap adjustments around the Town Hall entry and central deadzones can make the layout even more annoying after you see what your opponents prefer to attack with.
