Strategy Explanation

This TH18 layout is built for Legend League-style defense, where the main goal is to make the attacker work hard for a clean triple rather than simply hiding everything in one block. The base uses a stretched, slightly diamond-shaped footprint with the Town Hall and strongest defenses protected through layered compartments instead of one obvious central box.

The core is split into several high-value sections, so troops do not get a straight walk from one key defense to the next. That matters a lot against spam armies, especially when the attacker relies on Root Riders, Yetis, Electro Titans, or air troops to roll through the middle. The layout asks them to commit early, then punishes poor pathing with overlapping fire from the core and side compartments.

Strengths

  • Good anti 3 star structure: the base has enough compartment changes to slow down a direct push and break up troops after the first layer.
  • Spread defensive value: major defenses are not packed into one easy Rage or Freeze zone, which helps against blimp and smash attacks.
  • Awkward funneling: outside buildings and offset compartments can pull troops sideways if the attacker does not create a clean entry.
  • Useful for Legend League: the layout favors time pressure and messy backend pathing, both of which are common reasons attacks fail at high Town Hall levels.

Split Core Pathing Pressure

The most important part of this layout is the way the central compartments are broken up. Instead of one compact core, the high-value defenses sit across connected but uneven sections. This creates a pathing problem: troops entering from one side often clear the nearest compartment, then drift toward storage buildings or outer defenses rather than staying locked onto the next major target.

That split-core style is especially helpful against spam attacks. If the attacker drops everything in a line, the first wave may look strong, but the backend becomes less predictable. Heroes can peel away, Root Riders may open the wrong wall, and support troops can get stuck behind the main push.

Legend League Damage Spread

The defensive damage is spread across the layout rather than stacked only around the Town Hall. That is a good choice for Legend League because players often bring flexible armies that can handle one heavy core with spells. Here, they need spell value in multiple places. Freezing one compartment does not shut down the whole base.

The outside coverage also helps chip away at support troops. Healers, Balloons, cleanup Minions, and Wizards can take damage while the main army is busy inside. That chip damage is often what turns a close triple into a high two star.

Town Hall and Backend Control

The Town Hall area is protected well enough that the attacker cannot ignore it, but it is not the only defensive threat. This is important because many TH18 attacks are planned around securing the Town Hall early and then letting the army flow. On this base, taking the Town Hall does not automatically open a clean finish.

The backend still has compartments, traps spaces, and separated defenses that force the attacker to keep spells and hero abilities for later. If they spend too much on the opener, the last section can stall the army long enough for a defense.

Best Use and Copy Layout Notes

This is a strong choice if you want a TH18 Legend League base focused on anti 3 star results rather than pure resource protection. It should work best for players who see a lot of smash, spam, and air hybrid attacks in daily defenses.

If you use the copy layout option, check your trap and hero placements after copying, especially if your defensive upgrades are uneven. Small adjustments to Seeking Air Mines, Tornado Trap, and ground Skeleton Traps can make the same structure much more annoying against the attack styles you face most often.
