TH18 War Base with Offset Town Hall and Heavy Core

TH18 War Base with Offset Town Hall and Heavy Core
Offset Town Hall placement and a crowded central core make this TH18 war setup awkward to path cleanly through, especially for direct smash attacks and loose air spam.

Strategy Explanation

This TH18 war layout uses a wide diamond shape with the Town Hall placed left of center instead of sitting directly in the middle. That choice matters because it pulls attention away from the true core, which is packed with high-value defenses and ringed by several small compartments. An attacker can reach the Town Hall without immediately owning the entire base, and that trade-off is clearly part of the defensive idea here.

The middle section is the main damage zone. The core holds multiple major defenses close together, with compact walls and layered access points that make direct movement less comfortable for ground armies. The side compartments on the right and lower side are broader and more open, but they still feed into the central kill zone rather than offering a clean sweep around the base. From the image, this layout looks built to force troops inward at awkward angles instead of allowing a smooth clockwise or counterclockwise rotation.

Air attacks also have to respect the spacing. The key defenses are not stacked into one easy spell pocket, and the Town Hall is far enough from the center that air troops committing for it may drift into the core under heavier fire afterward. Electro Dragon chains do not get the easiest value either, because the base has noticeable gaps between several important structures and compartments.

Overall, this design appears aimed at making triples difficult by splitting objectives. Taking the Town Hall, pushing through the core, and preserving pathing to the far side are three separate jobs instead of one continuous move.

Strengths

The best feature here is how the layout separates major objectives. The Town Hall is important, but it is not the same compartment as the most congested central defenses, so attackers do not automatically gain full control after one successful push.

  • Offset Town Hall: A safe Town Hall takedown does not guarantee access to the middle, which is useful against planned smash entries and some Queen Charge routes.
  • Dense central pressure: The core is crowded with high-value defenses, creating heavy punishment once troops step inside.
  • Compartment layering: Multiple small junctions and boxed sections can slow direct ground pathing and make jump or wall-break timing more important.
  • Good objective split: Key defenses are spread between the center and side sections, so attackers may need to choose between early value and cleaner finishing pathing.
  • Reasonable anti-chain spacing: There are enough gaps around major sections to reduce obvious Electro Dragon bounce value.

Ground Attack Pathing

For ground hits, the main question is whether the attacker can enter through the Town Hall side and still keep momentum into the core. If that entry works, the base can open up quickly. If it fails or stalls, troops risk circling the outside because several outer structures sit at angles that can drag heroes and support units away from the middle.

The compact central compartments are good against loose smash play. Root Riders, Titans, or heavier hero-led pushes would still need strong funnel control on both flanks to avoid wasting value on side sections. That is where this layout earns its anti-3-star label: it does not hand over the second phase of the attack for free.

Air Attack Considerations

Air armies can approach from several angles, but none of them look completely comfortable. Going for the Town Hall first may leave the main force flying into the busiest defensive area afterward. Starting from the opposite side can create a stronger sweep through broad compartments, but then the Town Hall remains a late objective under pressure.

This is also not an especially generous Electro Dragon map. Some outer edges can still chain, but the larger interior gaps and separated compartments reduce the chance of one clean set of chains carrying the whole attack. That makes the base more reliable against simple air spam than against carefully planned blimp-supported hits.

Core Value Protection

The central structure is the main reason this layout works. Important defenses are packed tightly enough that any army entering the middle is exposed to stacked damage, but the path into that area is not completely straightforward. That combination forces commitment. An attacker can often claim one major objective, but claiming every core defense in the same push is harder.

If you want a war layout that puts pressure on both planning and execution, this one makes sense. It has clear trade-offs, but the offset Town Hall and heavy center give it a practical anti-3-star identity. If the structure suits your defensive style, the copy option is worth testing in friendly challenges before using it in war.
