Strategy Explanation

This TH18 Legend League base is built around a very compact diamond-style core with the Town Hall placed high and deep, while the heaviest value is split across several inner compartments instead of being stacked in one easy section. The central ring forces attackers to commit into layers before they can reach the core, and the side boxes create pathing decisions that can pull troops away from a clean line through the base.

The layout looks intended to slow down 3-star attempts rather than just protect one building. The Town Hall sits in the upper portion behind multiple walls, while the middle core holds another major block of value that is not easy to reach in a straight push. Infernos, X-Bows, and the major splash defenses are spread across separate compartments, so attackers do not get easy spell value by dropping everything into one area. From the image, this base appears especially focused on making smash and spam armies drift sideways before they can fully collapse the center.

The outer ring also matters here. Storages and collectors are placed in a way that can shape funneling and keep troops walking around edges if the entry is not clean. If the defensive structure suits your current setup, you can use the copy-layout option to load it directly into Clash of Clans and test how your own trap placement complements the pathing.

Strengths

This layout has a strong anti-3-star shape because the valuable defenses are not exposed in a simple line, and the core is protected by multiple layers of compartments.

  • Deep Town Hall position: attackers need real commitment to secure it early.
  • Split compartment structure: side sections can pull troops off the main route.
  • Good defensive spread: high-value defenses are separated enough to reduce easy Freeze and Rage value.
  • Awkward center access: the core is reachable, but not in a smooth direct line.
  • Useful anti-spam shape: broad edges and angled walls can make simple drops lose shape quickly.

Town Hall Side Pressure

The top side is the most important defensive area of the base. Because the Town Hall is set behind layers and near supporting defenses, attackers cannot casually snipe it without stepping into concentrated fire. That makes this layout useful in Legend League, where many players want a safe and efficient Town Hall takedown before setting the rest of the attack. Here, that first step is less comfortable.

The upper defensive line also helps against entries that try to start wide and then fold inward. Troops moving toward the Town Hall have to survive point defense and splash while also respecting the compartment walls.

Core Pathing and Interior Walls

The center of this base is one of its better features. The inner diamond and cross-channel design create a situation where troops can stall, split, or circle if the funnel is not exact. This is especially useful against ground armies that depend on staying tight under Warden ability and spell support. If they break one wall layer but fail to hold direction, the side compartments can steal troops and leave the core only partially cleared.

The central structure also limits easy straight-line access from bottom to top. Even when attackers enter from the lower side, they still need a clean route through multiple sections before they can finish the upper half.

Air Attack Considerations

Against air, the base does a decent job of reducing simple sweep value because the defenses are not all clumped behind the Town Hall. The air-targeting defenses appear spread around the upper and side sections, which can make it harder for a single air push to erase everything under one Rage. The layout also avoids a boxy shape that would make Electro Dragon chains too comfortable through the entire base.

That said, the wide edges still give air players room to set a funnel. If they remove one flank cleanly and drive balloons or heavier air troops through the Town Hall lane, the attack can still become efficient. This base is better at forcing precision than at completely shutting down air.

Ground Entry Options

Ground attacks will probably test the lower and lower-side entries first because those sections offer access into the inner compartments without walking immediately into the Town Hall area. The challenge is that the base does not reward a careless entry. A smash army that drifts left or right can lose tempo before reaching the center, and that often decides whether the attack becomes a safe two-star or a full clear attempt.

Heroes also need to be managed carefully against this style of layout. If the King or Queen gets stuck on an outside section, the main push loses support at the exact moment it needs help entering the core.
