TH18 War Base with Central Core and Anti Air Layers
Latest Reviews
Strategy Explanation
This TH18 War Base is built around a dense central core with multiple layers of walls feeding attackers inward instead of giving them a clean sweep around the ring. The Town Hall sits toward the upper side of the base rather than fully exposed in the center, while the heaviest value is stacked through the middle compartments. That setup makes attackers choose between pushing early toward the Town Hall or committing deeper to reach the core defenses and heroes.
The overall shape creates a long, narrow flow from top to bottom. Ground armies that enter from either end are likely to get pulled through several compartments in sequence, which can break support spacing and delay access to the highest-value defenses. Air armies also do not get a simple straight line through the base because key defenses are spread across different layers instead of clumped into one easy Freeze target.
This looks like a layout meant to pressure both safe 2-star plans and full triple attempts. The top side offers Town Hall access, but it is not a free take because the surrounding compartments still force time and spell investment. If the attacker ignores the center for too long, the core remains active deep into the raid. If this defensive style fits what you want for war or Legend League, you can use the copy-layout option and test it directly in Clash of Clans.
Strengths
The biggest strength here is how much defensive value is packed into separated layers. The base does not hand out easy pathing, and the central area looks difficult to clear cleanly without committing heroes, spells, or siege support at the right time.
- Core protection: The middle compartments hold a lot of defensive weight and are not reachable in one simple push.
- Town Hall pressure: The Town Hall is protected by upper compartments, forcing commitment instead of a cheap snipe.
- Anti air structure: Air-targeting defenses are spread well enough to reduce one-area spell value.
- Compartment depth: Long channels can pull ground troops off ideal timing and split support units.
- Hybrid utility: Storages and key defenses are protected well enough that the base can still work outside strict war use.
Town Hall Side Pressure
The upper section is one of the most important parts of the design. The Town Hall is protected behind walls with supporting defenses around it, so attackers cannot casually drift into it. That matters against blimp follow-up attacks and against smash armies trying to secure an early 2-star before sending the rest of the army around the core.
Even when the Town Hall is taken, the attacker still has to solve the center. That split in objectives is useful in war because it often forces awkward spell timing. Freeze and Rage used too early on the Town Hall side may leave the army short on support when the core defenses begin stacking damage.
Core Value Protection
The central compartment is where this base gets most of its anti-3 value. Heroes, heavy defenses, and dense building placement create a dangerous middle that punishes overconfident pathing. Armies that enter too wide can circle the outside and leave the core alive. Armies that force directly inward risk bunching up under concentrated fire.
This is especially useful against Root Rider or smash-style attacks that want smooth wall progression. The interior layers here look more likely to stall momentum than to give a straight route through the base.
Electro Dragon Matchup
For an anti air and anti Electro Dragon label, the layout does a few good things. First, the key structures are not arranged in a simple line from one corner to the other, which lowers easy chain value. Second, the diamond-style footprint spreads entry decisions instead of giving one obvious side for full base coverage.
Electro Dragons can still brute-force any layout with enough spell value, but this one does not look friendly to loose funneling. If the initial funnel fails, the air army is likely to split or stall before it gets ideal access to both the Town Hall and the central compartments.
Ground Entry and Pathing
Ground attacks will probably look at the lower half first because it appears heavier and more direct, but that is also where the layered walls can drag troops through compartments in the wrong order. Entering from a side can create better shape, though it may leave the Town Hall phase awkward later.
The base is strongest when it forces attackers to choose between a safe line and a high-value line. That is what gives it real war utility: there is no obviously clean route that solves both the Town Hall and the core without trade-offs.
War and Legend League Use
This layout makes the most sense as a TH18 War Base for players who want a compact anti-3 structure that still holds up in regular defensive use. It has enough central weight for CWL style hits, and the air spacing gives it practical value against common ladder spam as well. It is not trying to bait one niche attack only; it is trying to force imperfect pathing across several matchups, which is exactly what many TH18s需要.
