TH18 War Base with Split Core and Offset Town Hall
Latest Reviews
Strategy Explanation
This TH18 War Base is built around a crowded central core and an offset Town Hall in the upper-right section. Instead of putting everything directly around the Town Hall, the layout spreads key targets across separate compartments and forces attackers to choose between taking the hall early or committing deeper into the middle for the heaviest defensive value. The core is packed with high-value defenses, heroes, and support buildings, which creates a lot of pressure once troops step inside.
The base shape is irregular enough to make clean pathing difficult. Ground armies do not get a simple straight line through the base, and air armies cannot just fly over one side and collect all major defenses in order. The Town Hall is protected by layered walls and sits away from the busiest part of the core, which is a common anti 3-star idea because it splits attacker priorities. If a push goes for the center first, the hall can remain for late value. If the attack opens toward the Town Hall, the middle still has enough weight to break momentum.
Another noticeable point is the spread of outer structures. There are enough buildings outside or near the outer ring to create awkward funnel demands. That matters against smash attacks, Root Rider style entries, and hero-supported charges that want a predictable route. This layout looks intended to force early troop drift and make spell placement less efficient once the attack reaches the middle.
Strengths
The base does a good job of separating objectives. Attackers are not getting easy access to the Town Hall, core value, and side defenses all in one push.
- Offset Town Hall: The hall is protected in its own section rather than sitting in a fully central target zone.
- Dense central damage: The middle compartment cluster looks busy and dangerous, which can punish troops that enter without full support.
- Awkward compartmenting: The wall shape makes it harder to maintain clean ground pathing through the base.
- Good anti-sweep value: Important defenses are not all stacked into one obvious line for easy spell efficiency.
- Outer ring distraction: Side buildings can pull heroes and support troops off ideal routes.
Town Hall Compartment Value
The Town Hall placement is one of the most important features here. It is not sitting dead center, which reduces the chance of a simple all-in push getting everything at once. In war, that can be very useful because it forces a commitment decision. Some attackers will go after the Town Hall first to secure the safe two-star path, but doing that can leave the core untouched for too long. Others will drive into the middle and risk running out of pace before reaching the hall.
That split objective is what gives this base a real anti 3-star identity. It is not trying to deny every two-star attempt. It is trying to make the full clear feel uncomfortable.
Ground Attack Pathing
Against ground armies, the main issue is control. The lower and side edges offer places to start, but the inner wall structure does not naturally feed troops through every major compartment in order. Root Riders and smash armies usually want a wide, stable entry with the heroes supporting behind them. Here, the side compartments and outside buildings can create drift, especially if the funnel is not fully prepared.
The central cluster should be dangerous for overcommitted charges. Once troops step in, they are likely to be under pressure from multiple angles instead of just one front-facing layer of defenses. That makes this layout more useful in war than a base that gives a neat left-to-right sweep.
Air Attack Considerations
This layout also has decent anti-air structure because the base does not present an easy rectangular flight path. Electro Dragon players usually want chain-friendly building lines and compact, predictable value. While the core is dense, the overall shape is uneven enough to make full chain control less reliable. The offset Town Hall also means air troops may have to bend their route instead of gliding straight through the center.
Lalo-style attacks may still find angles if heroes create one side of the path first, but they still need to account for the separate Town Hall section and the amount of value concentrated in the middle.
War Use and Copy Option
This is the kind of TH18 War Base that fits players who want to make triples harder rather than simply baiting for a fast anti 2-star setup. The split between the Town Hall section and the heavier central core gives it a solid war identity, especially for regular wars and CWL defense.
If the structure matches what you want from your current defensive setup, you can use the copy-layout option to place it directly in Clash of Clans and test how attackers approach the Town Hall side versus the middle compartments.
