Strategy Explanation
This TH16 war layout runs a rotated diamond with tight, zig‑zag compartments that force troops to keep turning. The Town Hall sits low-right, boxed by multiple walls and heavy-point defenses, while the opposite side houses the Eagle Artillery. Core defenses are split on the long diagonal: a Monolith and X‑Bows sit closer to center, with Scattershots offset on the left/top and lower/right halves to create constant crossfire. The Clan Castle is central enough to pull late, making early Queen Charges awkward.
Air Sweepers point across the diamond rather than straight out, pushing blimps and Dragons off their intended lines. Storages ring many compartments to eat shots and delay spell value. Heroes are staggered—King and Royal Champion on one flank, Queen and Warden on the other—so a single hero dive won’t clear both a Scatter and the Eagle. Spell Towers are staggered as well, with one watching the Town Hall box and the other covering the central lane, punishing overextended charges and late Lalo paths.
Strengths
- Anti 2‑Star pressure: Off-center Town Hall protected by layered walls, traps, and a Spell Tower. Tornado and Giant Bombs are usually set in front of it to stall blimps and recall charges.
- Split anchors: Eagle on the far diagonal from the TH forces a two-phase plan and taxes spell timing.
- Pathing tax: The staggered compartments deny straight Queen walks; Wall Breakers often redirect or over-open, and Root Riders get split.
- Air denial: Cross‑firing Scattershots with X‑Bows on air and Sweepers angled across the lanes make Dragon/EA hybrids drift and burn spells early.
- Rage/Poison zones: Stacked with core multi-target damage to melt heroes and bowlers if they funnel incorrectly.
Best Defending Clan Castle
- Ice Golem + Super Minions + Archers for delayed poison pressure and anti-Queen stall.
- Double Headhunter swap if your war opponent leans heavy on hero dives.
Trap Placement Tips
- Place Tornado in front of the Town Hall tile where sweepers push blimps—two tiles inside the entry gap works best.
- Stack two Seeking Air Mines on the blimp lanes from the bottom and right edges; sprinkle one on the Eagle side for Dragons.
- Giant Bombs between core junctions to catch Root Riders; small bombs near likely Wall Breaker lines on the left channel.
Attacker Notes
- Queen Charge Recall into Lalo is your safest 3-star path: trim a Scatter pocket, recall, then send Lalo from Eagle to TH.
- For ground, Warden Walk + Root Riders from top-left, Siege Barracks opposite, and a late Royal Champion to finish the TH box.
