Strategy Explanation

This TH16 war base uses a wide, compartment-heavy shape instead of giving attackers one clean lane through the middle. The Town Hall sits inside the central lower core, with heavy defenses layered around it so a simple air spam push has to deal with multiple damage zones before reaching the key value.

The layout is especially aimed at Anti Air and Electro Dragon attacks. Buildings are not packed into one easy chain line, and the core is broken by walls and offset compartments. That makes Electro Dragons less efficient because they cannot consistently chain from outside trash into high-value defenses. Air Defenses, Infernos, Scattershots, and hero pressure are spread across the base, forcing air troops to stay under fire for a long time rather than deleting one compact section quickly.

Strengths

  • Good anti-chain spacing: the separated compartments reduce easy Electro Dragon value, especially through the center.
  • Layered core protection: the Town Hall is not exposed early, and attackers must commit spells, heroes, or siege support to reach it safely.
  • Awkward funneling: the angled outer shape and uneven compartments make it harder to create a straight path for Dragons, Root Riders, or Queen Charge support.
  • Strong anti 3 star structure: defenses are spread enough that the base does not collapse from one side entry.
  • Multiple damage pockets: attackers moving through the middle still have to clear side compartments that keep firing into the push.

Core Value Protection

The central area is the main reason this layout works. The Town Hall, core defenses, and nearby hero pressure are not handed out for free from the first layer. Attackers have to break through several compartments, and that usually means their Warden ability or spell investment gets used before the full base is cleared.

This is useful in war because many TH16 attacks are built around getting one huge push through the center. Here, the push can reach the core, but it often loses time and troop count while side defenses continue shooting. That delay is what turns a possible triple into a high-percent two star.

Anti Electro Dragon Spacing

The layout clearly avoids the biggest mistake against Electro Dragons: tight building clumps next to every key defense. There are still connected areas, but the important defenses are split by walls, gaps, and offset compartments. This makes Electro Dragons waste shots on lower-value buildings instead of chaining cleanly through Scattershots, Infernos, and air-targeting defenses.

Air Sweepers and Air Defenses also matter here because they help break the timing of an Electro Dragon push. If the attacker does not remove them early, the army can stall around the outer compartments while the core stays alive longer than expected.

Funneling and Entry Control

The base has several angled sides and small exterior pockets, which makes funneling less automatic. An attacker trying to enter from one corner has to clear enough buildings to stop troops from walking, but those outer defenses are positioned to punish slow setup phases. This is good against spam attacks where the player wants to drop everything in a line and rely on momentum.

For best results, use the copy layout option and then adjust traps after your first few defenses. If you notice most attackers choosing the same air entry, move Seeking Air Mines and red Air Bombs toward that lane. The structure of the base is already solid; small trap adjustments can make it much more annoying in your own war environment.

Best Use for This TH16 Layout

This base fits regular clan wars and CWL rounds where you expect Electro Dragons, Hydra, or other air-heavy armies. It is not a pure anti 2 star box, but it does a good job protecting the center while forcing attackers to work for the triple. If your clan needs a TH16 war base with a copy link that does not offer easy chain value, this is a practical option to test.
