Strategy Explanation

This TH16 base uses a diamond-style wall shape with the Town Hall and main defensive value held around the middle, while the outer buildings are spread wide enough to interrupt easy Electro Dragon chains. The layout is clearly aimed at air defense, especially against players trying to send Electro Dragons in a straight line through the base.

The key idea is not to stop every chain completely, because that is unrealistic at TH16, but to make the attacker spend more time building a clean funnel. The wide outer ring, scattered high-hitpoint buildings, and separated defenses make it harder for Electro Dragons to keep moving with full value. If the attacker starts from a poor angle, they can drift around the edges instead of driving into the core.

Strengths

  • Good Electro Dragon resistance: Buildings are not packed into one simple chain lane, so E-Drags have fewer easy jumps into major defenses.
  • Protected core value: The Town Hall area is surrounded by multiple wall layers and defensive coverage, forcing air troops to stay under fire longer.
  • Spread air damage: Air-targeting defenses are placed across the base rather than stacked on one side, which helps against spam-style air attacks.
  • Awkward funneling: The angled shape makes it harder to create a clean left-to-right or top-to-bottom path without extra support troops.

Electro Dragon Pathing

The biggest value of this TH16 COC base layout is the way it disrupts straight-line Electro Dragon movement. The outer buildings give attackers something to chain from, but the spacing and angled walls reduce the chance of one simple chain wiping out an entire side. That means the attacker often needs Balloons, Rage spells, and heroes to force the E-Drags into the base instead of letting them wander.

For best results, watch replays and move air traps toward the side most players choose as their entry. If they keep starting near the Town Hall side, stack more punishment there. If they enter opposite the Town Hall, shift traps to catch the Blimp or first wave of Balloons.

Core Value Protection

The middle area is built to slow down the main push rather than giving up the Town Hall quickly. Defensive buildings are placed so air troops stay under pressure while crossing the base. This is useful against Electro Dragon hits because they rely on staying alive long enough to keep chaining through expensive targets.

The layout also makes early hero value less obvious. A Queen Charge can still work, but the attacker needs careful wall breaks and spell timing to reach the best targets. If the charge stalls on the outside, the air phase has to deal with more core defenses later.

Air Trap and Sweeper Adjustments

If you copy this layout, do not leave the air traps untouched forever. At TH16, small trap changes can make the difference between a low percent defense and a triple. Put Seeking Air Mines where Blimps, Dragon Riders, or Electro Dragons are most likely to cross into the middle. Red Air Bombs are better near expected Balloon groups, especially along the first layer of the air push.

Air Sweepers should support the same idea: push air troops away from the core path and force them to spend more time inside heavy damage. If your league sees more Electro Dragon spam than LavaLoon, angle them against the most common E-Drag entry.

Best Use for This Copy Layout

This is a practical choice for players who want a TH16 anti air defense base for daily defense, trophies, or testing before war use. Use the copy layout option, run a few defenses, then adjust traps based on real attacks. The base has the right structure to punish lazy Electro Dragon spam, but it becomes stronger when you tune it to your own matchup history.
