Strategy Explanation

This TH16 layout is built around a high Town Hall position and a long, compartment-heavy route into the middle. The Town Hall sits near the top in its own protected section, while the heaviest follow-up defenses are stacked through the center line below it. That structure strongly suggests an anti 2 star idea: taking the Town Hall is possible, but holding enough strength in the middle and lower core to punish the rest of the attack.

The central area is split into several small chambers rather than one open core. That matters against both ground pushes and air spam. Electro Dragons usually want clean line movement and strong chain value, but this design breaks that rhythm by offsetting major defenses and using narrow connections between compartments. Air troops entering from one side do not get a simple sweep across the whole base, and the Town Hall is not sitting in a direct, easy line with the lower core.

The lower half carries a lot of the important defensive weight, including tightly protected major defenses and a dense cluster of structures that can stall heroes and tanks after the first objective is taken. From a pathing perspective, attackers are encouraged to choose between an early Town Hall commitment from the top side or a broader push through the middle that delays access to the Town Hall. That split decision is the core of the layout.

Strengths

The most useful feature here is how the base separates the Town Hall from the strongest continuation value. An attacker can reach one part of the plan, but turning that into a smooth finish looks less comfortable than on flatter ring or box styles.

  • High Town Hall compartment: the Town Hall is not exposed on an edge and sits behind multiple layers, which helps against quick blimp-less grabs and casual hero dives.
  • Layered central pathing: several small compartments in the middle slow direct movement and can force retargets for both ground troops and heroes.
  • Reduced Electro Dragon flow: the structure does not give a straight top-to-bottom chain route, and key defenses are not all stacked into one easy freeze zone.
  • Good damage spread: important defenses are distributed across the center and lower sections, so an attacker does not get all critical value from one early entry.

Air Attack Considerations

For anti air use, the best part of this design is that the Town Hall does not sit in a flat central square where Loons and Electro Dragons can drift over everything at once. Air troops moving in from the left or right side have to deal with offset compartments and side defenses before fully stabilizing. That can create messy movement after the first freeze spells are used.

Electro Dragon players in particular do not get ideal chain lines through the whole village. Buildings near the top are close enough for opening value, but the layout becomes less linear as the attack moves downward. That makes spell timing and funnel precision more important than usual.

Ground Pathing and Hero Pressure

Ground armies will usually want to enter from the lower half or one of the lower corners because that is where the base holds a dense band of defenses and supporting value. The challenge is keeping heroes from walking around the outer compartments. The side sections are large enough to pull troops off line if the funnel is not finished properly.

A Queen Charge can still claim value from one side compartment, but turning that into direct Town Hall access is not automatic. The layered walls above the middle are doing real work here. If you use the copy option, this is the kind of layout where trap placement and small building changes can further sharpen those hero paths.

Town Hall Protection

The Town Hall is the clear anchor point, but it is not the entire defense. That is important for anti 2 star value. A safe Town Hall alone is not enough at TH16 if the rest of the base collapses behind it. Here, the upper compartment delays the first star while the middle and lower sections still threaten the second half of the attack.

Because the Town Hall sits high instead of deep in the exact center, attackers may overcommit to it and lose shape on the backside. That is where this style can be annoying to finish cleanly. It does not rely on surprise; it relies on making the second phase of the attack less efficient.

Best Use Case

This layout makes the most sense as a defensive war or trophy option when you want to challenge common air attacks without using an overly exposed Town Hall. It is especially suited to attackers who default to direct Electro Dragon lines or simple two-phase plans around securing the Town Hall first. The design is readable, but the follow-through is awkward, and that is exactly what gives it value.
