Strategy Explanation

This TH18 layout is built around making the attacker work hard for the Town Hall instead of giving away a simple charge, blimp, or direct spam line. The base uses a diamond-style shape with the Town Hall placed toward the upper side, protected by layered walls, heavy defenses, and awkward access points. The core area is not sitting in one clean lane, so troops that enter from the bottom or sides can easily get pulled across the base before reaching the most important value.

For war and Legend League, that matters a lot. Many TH18 attacks are planned around securing the Town Hall early, then using the rest of the army to clean the base for percent. Here, the attacker has to choose between committing a lot of force into the upper section or taking a longer route through the middle where splash, hero pressure, and high-damage defenses can wear the army down.

Strengths

  • Good anti 2 star value: the Town Hall is not offered at the edge, and reaching it requires a proper push or a risky spell investment.
  • Strong spread for Legend League: defenses are placed across the full base, making fast spam attacks less comfortable.
  • Awkward funneling: outer buildings and offset defensive pockets can drag troops away from the intended entry.
  • Useful against blimp planning: the top-side Town Hall zone is protected enough that a simple straight blimp is not always reliable.
  • Balanced war use: it does not rely on one trick; the layout forces attackers to spend time and make decisions.

Town Hall Protection

The Town Hall position is the main reason this base fits the anti 2 star tag. It sits toward the top of the base but not exposed enough for a cheap snipe. There are layered defenses around it, and the nearby walling makes direct ground access slower than it first looks. A Queen Charge from the top has to deal with multiple defensive angles, while a battle blimp still needs good timing and protection to avoid losing value early.

This type of Town Hall placement is especially useful in CWL and Legend League because many attackers prefer safe two-star hits. By making the Town Hall expensive, the layout can turn a comfortable attack into a messy finish.

Core Pathing and Defensive Spread

The middle of the base uses broken lanes and several defensive pockets rather than one easy path. That is important against spam armies because troops often split after the first layer instead of staying together. When the push separates, support troops and heroes lose protection, and the main army may burn spells before reaching the top half.

The defensive spread also helps against Electro Dragon and air spam-style hits. There are enough gaps and side targets to stop a clean chain through the entire base, while air defenses and heavy towers are not all stacked in one place. That forces the attacker to commit spells more carefully instead of getting huge value from one Freeze or Rage.

Funneling Pressure on the Sides

The sides of the layout are not empty. They include resource buildings, defenses, and small pockets that make funneling less automatic. If an attacker starts from a corner, troops can walk around the outer ring instead of driving inside. This is useful against Root Rider, Dragon, and hero-dive attacks where the opening funnel decides the whole hit.

The base also uses enough outside trash to slow the attack timer. In Legend League, time pressure matters because attackers often spend too long shaping the funnel before committing the main army. That can lead to a lower percent result even if they eventually reach the core.

Best Use for This TH18 Base

This is best used as a TH18 war base, CWL anti 2 star layout, or Legend League defensive base when you want to protect stars more than loot. It is not a farming layout, and it is not trying to hide storages. The goal is to make the Town Hall difficult, stretch the attacker’s pathing, and punish rushed spam entries.

If you like bases that make opponents think twice before starting from the Town Hall side, this one is worth testing. Use the copy layout option, run it through a few friendly challenges, and adjust traps if your clan sees the same attack style often.

Trap and Clan Castle Notes

For best results, keep the Clan Castle filled with defensive troops that slow the push rather than troops that die instantly to poison. Ice Golems, Super Minions, Rocket Balloons, or a mixed stall setup can work depending on your war rules and common enemy attacks. Traps should support the Town Hall approach and the main entry lanes, especially against blimps, heroes, and early ground pushes.
