Strategy Explanation

This TH18 war layout uses an offset Town Hall on the left side with the main defensive weight spread through the middle and right side of the base. That shape matters because attackers do not get a clean line through every major defense after taking the Town Hall. If they commit heavy heroes or a blimp into the Town Hall area, they still have to deal with infernos, scatter-style splash, hero pressure, and layered defenses across the rest of the map.

The base is built around broken pathing rather than one simple box. There are several small wall sections and open lanes that can pull Root Riders, Yetis, Titans, or heroes away from the highest value targets. In war and Legend League, that is useful because many attackers rely on predictable spam routes. Here, the army can split between the Town Hall side, the lower core, and the right-side storage zones instead of staying together.

Strengths

  • Offset Town Hall: The Town Hall is reachable, but taking it early does not automatically open the whole base.
  • Spread defensive value: Infernos, hero platforms, builder huts, and splash defenses are not stacked in one easy spell zone.
  • Good anti-spam shape: The angled lanes and staggered walls make ground armies drift if the funnel is not tight.
  • Legend League friendly: Resource buildings and defenses around the edges force extra cleanup time, which can save percentage.
  • Awkward blimp value: A blimp aimed at the Town Hall side gets limited follow-up value unless the attacker plans the rest well.

Offset Town Hall Pressure

The Town Hall placement is the main feature of this base. It sits low-left rather than in the middle, with defensive support close enough to punish a direct dive. That makes attackers choose between a safe Town Hall takedown and a stronger core push. If they overcommit to the Town Hall, the remaining defenses on the right and top side can survive into the final minute.

This is especially helpful in CWL-style hits where the attacker wants a safe two star first. The base gives them a path to the Town Hall, but it does not give away an easy high percentage finish.

Core Pathing and Ground Army Splits

The middle of the layout is not a straight highway. The wall angles and separated defense groups can drag troops in different directions. Root Riders may open one lane while heroes or support troops walk into another. That split is where the base can pick up defenses: healers get exposed, Warden ability timing becomes awkward, and damage dealers lose protection.

Against smash attacks, the best value comes when the attacker starts too wide. If the funnel is loose, troops can drift around the core instead of crushing it together. That is exactly the kind of mistake this layout tries to create.

Air Attack Control

The air defense value is spread across the base, with key air-targeting defenses not all sitting beside the Town Hall. That helps against Electro Dragons, Dragon spam, and blimp follow-ups because the attacker cannot freeze one small area and remove everything. The base also has edge buildings that can delay air troops or pull balloons off the ideal route.

For Legend League, this is important. Many quick hits rely on a simple air funnel and a straight push. Here, an air army has to work through multiple angles, and the back-end defenses still have a chance to fire late.

Hero and Trap Value

The defensive heroes are placed so they can interrupt both core pushes and side entries. They are not all isolated in one spot, which makes poison and ability timing less comfortable for the attacker. If your replays show repeated Queen Charge entries from the Town Hall side, consider moving seeking air mines, giant bombs, or skeleton traps toward that route.

Traps are best used to punish the common paths: blimp lines into the Town Hall, Root Rider lanes through the lower middle, and cleanup troops on the outer ring. Small trap changes can make this base much stronger after a few defenses.

Using the Copy Layout Option

This TH18 war CoC base layout is a good pick if you want one base for both war days and Legend League defense. Use the copy layout option, then check your own defensive levels and hero skins are not hiding important trap spots. After a few hits, adjust traps based on where attackers keep entering. The structure is solid as shown, but the trap tuning should match your league and clan war opponents.
