Strategy Explanation

This TH18 war and Legend League base uses a diamond-style shape with the Town Hall placed high inside the base rather than left on an easy edge. That matters because attackers cannot pick it off cheaply with a small hero dive or a straight Battle Blimp without dealing with heavy fire on the way in. The top section has strong splash and point defense support around the Town Hall, while the middle of the base holds several high-value defenses that force troops to stay under pressure after the first entry.

The layout is built to make pathing uncomfortable. From the outside, the first layer offers plenty of buildings that can pull spam troops sideways, especially Root Riders, Yetis, Super Bowlers, and Dragon-style armies. If the attacker does not build a clean funnel, troops can walk around the ring while the core defenses keep firing. In war, that can turn a strong hit into a safe two-star. In Legend League, it helps create time fails and messy low-percentage triples.

Strengths

  • Town Hall is not free: The Town Hall sits in the upper half with defensive support around it, so attackers need a real plan to secure it.
  • Good damage spread: Inferno-style coverage, X-Bows, Ricochet Cannons, Archer Towers, and splash defenses are spread across the base instead of all being stacked in one area.
  • Awkward spam pathing: The outer buildings and angled walls can pull troops away from the highest-value targets.
  • Useful for Legend hits: The layout can punish rushed attacks where the attacker drops everything in one line and relies on raw troop strength.
  • Hero value is protected: Hero altars and major defenses sit far enough inside that a simple Queen walk from the edge does not grab everything quickly.

Town Hall Protection

The Town Hall placement is one of the better parts of this TH18 COC base layout. It is high enough to make the two-star possible, but not so exposed that it becomes a free objective. Attackers coming from the top must move through defensive fire before reaching it, while attacks from the bottom still need to cross a large part of the base. This makes it more reliable than edge Town Hall designs in war, where safe two-stars are often too easy.

Core Damage and Spell Pressure

The middle of the layout is packed with important damage sources, and the spacing makes spell use less comfortable. Rage, Freeze, and Invisibility spells can still get value, but the attacker has to choose between protecting troops near the Town Hall or saving spells for the lower middle. That split pressure is useful against Root Rider spam and hero-charge attacks because the army often gets stretched across multiple defensive zones.

Anti-Spam Pathing

This base is clearly aimed at slowing down straight-line attacks. The angled wall shape and outer trash placement can make troops drift to the sides instead of moving cleanly through the base. That is especially helpful against casual Legend League spam, where players often rely on a wide drop and hope the army stays together. If the funnel breaks, the core can survive long enough to stop the triple.

Air Defense Coverage

The air coverage is spread across the base rather than leaving one obvious side weak. Air defenses, air-targeting towers, X-Bows, and back-end defenses force Dragon, Electro Dragon, and Hydra-style attacks to keep moving under fire. The Town Hall side also makes Blimp timing important, because a failed Blimp can leave the attacker needing to fight through poison and heavy fire without enough support.

Best Use and Copy Layout Notes

This layout fits players who want a TH18 war base that also works for daily Legend League defenses. It is not a strange trap base; it is a practical layout with enough protection around the Town Hall and enough spread damage to test common attacks. If you use the copy layout option, run it for a few defenses and then adjust traps based on what you see most often. Move air traps if you face repeated Blimp or Dragon hits, and shift ground traps if Root Riders keep entering from the same side.

Player tip: For CWL or higher war use, do not leave traps unchanged for too long. The structure is solid, but trap freshness is what keeps TH18 attackers guessing.
