Strategy Explanation

This TH18 war hybrid base uses a wide central dead-zone style layout instead of stacking all the value in one obvious core. The middle is broken into many small wall compartments with limited direct defensive value, which makes pathing less clean for spam troops and reduces the reward from a simple blimp or straight-line push. Attackers still have to commit properly, but they do not get an easy road through the base just by opening one compartment.

The important defenses and buildings are spread around the outer ring and lower-side compartments, forcing the attacker to build a real funnel before reaching the Town Hall area and back-end defenses. That is what gives this layout its anti 2 star feel: the base does not rely on one single trap, it relies on making the first phase messy and time-consuming.

Strengths

  • Awkward central pathing: the empty boxed core can pull troops sideways or stall them while defenses fire from the ring.
  • Good anti 2 star shape: the Town Hall approach is not handed over through a clean central lane, so safe percentage plus Town Hall is harder to plan.
  • Spread defensive value: key defenses are not all sitting in one blimp-friendly pile.
  • Hybrid use: storage and trash spread can help slow raids while still keeping the base suitable for war or CWL-style defense.

Empty Core Pathing

The most noticeable feature is the large compartment grid in the middle. It looks tempting, but there is not enough high-value reward inside to justify every attacker sending their main army through it. This helps against players who rely on automatic troop movement rather than planning a proper funnel. Troops can break walls, split, or spend time moving through low-value space while the outer defenses keep working.

Town Hall Access and Two-Star Control

The layout is best used when your goal is to make the Town Hall takedown cost something. A safe two-star attack usually wants easy percentage, a controlled Town Hall plan, and enough troops left to escape. Here, the separated compartments and offset defensive pockets make that sequence less comfortable. The attacker may have to choose between investing heavily for the Town Hall or taking a wider percentage route and risking the second star.

Defensive Ring Pressure

The outer ring is important on this base. Defenses, storages, and utility buildings are spaced so the attacker cannot remove everything with one clean spell package. That helps against spam styles because the army has to keep moving through multiple pockets instead of collapsing the whole base at once. Air attacks also need to respect the separated coverage, especially if sweepers and traps are adjusted to match your common opponents.

Best Use and Copy Notes

This TH18 layout fits war, CWL, and defensive testing for players who want an anti 2 star base without using a fully boxed, predictable design. If you use the copy layout option, check your trap positions after importing and set the Clan Castle to something that punishes early heroes or overcommitted entries. It is a good base to rotate in when opponents are expecting a normal compact TH18 war base.
