Strategy Explanation
This TH18 war layout is a square island with a ring of buildings on the outside and a tightly woven grid of small compartments inside. The Town Hall sits dead center, protected by a Monolith and two Spell Towers on opposite sides. X-Bows and Infernos are layered through the inner lanes, while Scattershots and the Eagle are placed on different quadrants so you never get all the splash in one push. The lattice walls force awkward pathing: troops step from box to box, getting pulled by side targets while the core keeps firing.
The outside ring is packed with defenses, storages, and utility buildings to slow heroes, deny easy funneling, and punish Flame Flinger value. Mortars and Bomb Towers are mixed into that ring, so ground sieges eat damage before they even touch the walls. Builder Huts are stacked near the middle to keep the Town Hall area alive under Rage/Poison coverage.
Attackers usually walk the edges first, then try to dive for the middle with Log Launcher or Blimp. The base answers with air sweeper coverage toward the lanes that lead to the core and a visible Tesla cluster along the bottom-right edge that ruins casual Warden walks.
Strengths
- Anti-everything core: Central TH with Monolith and dual Spell Towers punishes blimps, Smash, and Queen Charges that make it inside.
- Pathing tax: The grid of tiny boxes creates constant retargeting. Root Riders, Hogs, and Yetis bounce around and hit traps laced through the corridors.
- Split splash: Scattershots and Eagle are on different sides, making it hard to remove all splash with one siege.
- Legend consistency: Outer ring plus core distance forces a lot of low 2-stars and time fails.
- Anti-Flame Flinger touches: Mortars on the outside ring cover long-range siege attempts.
Recommended Clan Castle
- Legends: Ice Hound + 2 Headhunters + Archers. Hound stalls, HHs snipe heroes, and chip forces extra spells.
- War: 2 Ice Golems + 2 Headhunters + Archers. Great versus Smash and Queen Charge Lalo.
Trap and Tuning Notes
- Giant Bombs and Springs are visibly layered in the inner channels; keep them staggered to catch Root Riders/Hogs as they turn corners.
- Place Seeking Air Mines along the approach to the core from the stronger sweeper to punish blimps that try to push through it.
- Keep a small Tesla pack on the bottom-right as shown; it breaks standard Warden-walk timings.
Entry Advice for Defenders
Most attackers will target the Eagle side first. Don’t rotate heroes; leave the Royal Champion on the opposite quadrant so she cleans up weakened splash late. If you expect Zap-based openings, swap one Spell Tower to Invisibility and position it closer to the Town Hall.
Who Should Use This
Great for War and Legend League players who want reliable 2-star defenses and time traps against meta charges, Smash, and hybrid styles.
