Strategy Explanation

This TH18 War Base is built around an offset Town Hall and a very congested core. Instead of giving attackers a simple straight push into the middle, the layout uses layered compartments and uneven access angles to make pathing messy. The Town Hall sits high on the left side rather than dead center, which matters a lot in war because it can pull part of an attack away from the heavier core defenses.

The center of the base is packed with major value, and that density makes it hard to remove key defenses efficiently with one hero push or one spell set. There are multiple important defenses covering each other through the middle, while the outer ring uses small sections and point defenses to force troops wide before they can settle into the core. From the image, this looks like a base that wants attackers to commit early, then lose control once troops split around the center compartments.

It also does a good job of making the attack decision awkward. If an attacker goes for the Town Hall first, they still have to deal with the defended middle and the right-side sections afterward. If they ignore the Town Hall and drive into the core, they risk leaving a dangerous back-end section alive. That split priority is one of the better anti 3 star traits here.

Strengths

The main strength of this layout is how it separates objectives. The Town Hall is reachable in theory, but taking it does not automatically open the rest of the base. At the same time, the central compartments are crowded enough that a loose entry can fall apart fast.

  • Offset Town Hall: forces a choice between securing the Town Hall and pushing straight for core value.
  • Dense core: strong for punishing overcommitted charges and smash attacks that do not keep tight control.
  • Uneven compartments: makes clean wall-break routes and smooth troop movement less reliable.
  • Good defensive spread around the ring: side compartments stay relevant even after the first layer falls.
  • Solid anti-spam shape: the base does not hand out a simple clockwise or counterclockwise sweep.

Town Hall Side Pressure

The upper-left Town Hall section is the defining feature of the layout. It is protected well enough that casual dives should fail, but it is still far enough from the exact middle to distort attack plans. That usually helps in war, because many players build their whole hit around securing the Town Hall early.

What makes this useful is the follow-up problem. Even after claiming the Town Hall, the attacker still has to transition into the center and then finish the far side compartments. That creates room for time pressure, hero stalls, or troop splitting on the back end.

Core Value Protection

The core is where this base tries to win the defense. High-value defenses are stacked close enough to create heavy overlap, and the surrounding walls make direct access less clean than it appears. This kind of center works well against attacks that rely on one clean break-in point and then expect everything to move together.

Compact cores like this are especially annoying for players who do not set a strict funnel before sending the main army. Once troops drift around the compartments instead of through them, the central defenses keep firing longer than they should. If this structure matches how you like to defend in Clan War or CWL, the copy-layout option makes it easy to test with your own trap setup.

Ground Attack Pathing

For ground attacks, the biggest issue is side drift. The base shape does not naturally pull troops into one smooth line, and the internal compartments can create awkward turns after the first wall layer drops. Root Rider and smash-style armies will want clean edge funneling, otherwise they may take the Town Hall side or a side compartment without fully collapsing the middle.

The lower and right-side sections also matter on the back end. Even if the core is weakened, those surviving compartments can stall cleanup and break support for heroes.

Air Attack Considerations

Against air, this layout is less about giving no path at all and more about forcing a long route with multiple defended stages. The spacing around the outside reduces the feel of a simple line clear, while the middle still offers enough value that attackers will be tempted to send blimps or heroes toward it. That is where mistakes happen.

Electro Dragon players may still find some chain value because of the compact center, but the overall compartment shape is not especially friendly to a lazy full-send attack. Air armies that do best here will be the ones that remove one side cleanly, set the funnel carefully, and preserve enough spell support for the central defenses.

War Use and Fit

This is a solid TH18 anti 3 star choice for regular wars and CWL when you want a layout that creates target conflict. It does not rely on one gimmick. Instead, it leans on awkward Town Hall placement, compartment friction, and a busy center that can punish poor
