Strategy Explanation
This TH18 war base uses a compact diamond core with the Town Hall protected behind multiple wall layers and high-value defenses. The main idea is simple: make the attacker commit real army value before they can reach the Town Hall, while the outer compartments pull troops sideways instead of giving them a clean line into the middle.
The layout is especially useful against air spam and Electro Dragon-style attacks. Defensive buildings are not stacked in one easy chain lane, and the air defenses, sweepers, and heavy core damage are spread so attackers have to choose between securing the Town Hall or keeping their main army alive. That makes it a solid anti 2 star option for war and CWL, especially against players who rely on safe blimp paths or straight-line air pushes.
Strengths
- Central Town Hall protection: The Town Hall sits deep enough that a shallow hero dive or casual blimp does not automatically secure it.
- Good anti-air spread: Air targeting defenses are placed across different sections, forcing Dragons and Electro Dragons to fly through several damage zones.
- Awkward funneling: The diamond shape and side compartments can drag troops around the base instead of straight into the core.
- War-friendly design: It asks the attacker to plan spell timing, blimp angle, and hero value instead of rewarding simple spam.
Anti Electro Dragon Pathing
The strongest part of this layout is how it denies easy Electro Dragon value. The base has enough spacing and compartment breaks to reduce chain damage through the middle, while exterior buildings sit in a way that can pull E-Drags off their preferred line. Instead of letting them chain directly from the edge into the Town Hall, the layout encourages them to drift around the ring and take fire from multiple angles.
Air Sweepers near the core also matter here. They make a straight push less comfortable and can force attackers to spend more Freeze spells before the main army has reached the Town Hall. That often leaves fewer spells for the back end.
Town Hall and Core Value Protection
The core is not just the Town Hall by itself. It is surrounded by enough defensive value that attackers cannot ignore the center, but they also cannot cheaply remove it without committing a major part of the army. This is what makes the base work as an anti 2 star layout. If the attacker sends too little, the Town Hall survives. If they send too much, the outer percentage and back-end defense can become a problem.
The layered walls also help against heroes. A Queen Charge has to deal with awkward access, and a King or Warden walk does not naturally open the whole core without extra wall breaks or spell investment.
Best Use and Copy Notes
This base is best used in war or CWL when you want to punish rushed air spam and force safer attackers into a more technical plan. It is not meant to be a loot-saving farming setup; the value is in protecting stars and slowing down direct Town Hall access.
If you use the copy layout option, check your trap setup before war day. Place Tornado and Seeking Air Mines around the most likely blimp and Electro Dragon entry lines, usually from the sides with the cleanest path toward the Town Hall. Small trap changes can make this TH18 base much harder to scout and repeat.
